Planet Zoo: South America Pack is a collection of new items and animals. Planet Zoo fans will definitely like it, but it'll leave everyone else indifferent.
While the lack of new story missions is undeniably disappointing for me personally, the South America Pack is still an excellent addition to Planet Zoo with its huge array of new scenery pieces and fun new animals. It’s encouraging to see Frontier maintain such a high-degree of quality in their DLC releases and frequent gameplay updates to support this ever-expanding universe. I’ve still got my fingers crossed for a massive aquatic animal expansion to be announced any day now, but until then, you can find me working on my Colombian-themed Big Cat Rescue park.
This review was made to mirror the respect Planet Zoo/Frontier Developments shows their customers.
"The South America dlc is proof that frontier developments doesn't care about its customers, or their feedback.
After numerous complaints online from fans of Planet Zoo regarding the previous two DLC's only containing 3 and 4 animals (Arctic and Deluxe dlc's) frontier developments have once again given us FOUR habitat animals in this pack.
Charging your customers 10$ (USD) for 4 digital animals is a complete joke. I posted my opinion on the frontier developments forums but the developers kept deleting my criticism of the price, very disrespectful, so now I feel I have no choice to be heard except to voice my opinion on metacritic."
Warning: Frontier Developments price gouges customers with DLC'S just look at Jurassic World Evolution, and Planet Coaster for further proof.
The South America pack is certainly of quality, but the price that Frontier Developments is asking may be enough to put some players off. There are undoubtedly going to be more DLC packs for Planet Zoo, and hopefully the further packs will provide better value for money.
A little light content. 5 animals to cover the gigantic size of South America is not enough. What's missing are new plants to match the density of the Amazon.
Definitely the most disappointing of the dlcs. Now not to say it's overall bad, just lackluster due to the amount of south American animals, this DLC could've easily had 10 animals. The ones we got are great, there just needs to be more when diving into an area with so much diversity.
Warning! If you like planet zoo skip this dlc.
Four habitat animals sadly will not make your empty South America themed zoo seem full of life.
The content in this dlc was lacking even for planet zoo standards, they are beginning to come across as apathetic towards their fanbase. ie. Planet Zoo's loyal fans have been repeatedly asking for larger dlcs (with more scenery items and more animals) since the massive disappointment in the planet zoo community regarding their previous two disappointing dlcs (Deluxe DLC - 3 animals for 10$USD and Arctic DLC - 4 animals for 10$ USD) It is sad that planet zoo and frontier are already coming accross as apathetic and burdoned by their fans, rather than willing to give them what they have been so vocal about.
If Planet Zoo was going to purposely omit the entire continents of South America and Oceania from Planet Zoo's base game at very least they could have provided an appropriate amount of content in the DLC'S they are price gouging their fans over.
SummaryEnrich your zoo with over 250 new scenery pieces inspired by the wonderfully diverse South American continent. Care for and learn about five unique new animals and craft Zoos with distinct foliage and architecture ranging from the lush greens of the Amazon basin to the heights of the Andean mountain range.
