  1. This is one of the best games for PlayStation 2, what is also the weak point of it. Graphics and game mechanics are not the same as in a PS3 game, so it isn’t stirring for me.
  2. If you've been hankering for a full-scale Jak and Daxter game for some time, The Lost Frontier largely fulfills its duty as a continuation of the main series with flying colors. It's not a perfect sequel by any means, but it's strong enough to merit a purchase and some solid play time. Just be prepared to deal with some bumps along the way.

Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier is a good game with here and there some setbacks. It plays smoothly, it’s fast-paced from the get go and it looks fine. There’s not much bad to say about the game, aside from some camera flaws.
  4. Unless you're a die-hard Jak and Daxter fan, Jak and Daxter: The Final Frontier isn't worth the coin.

It's clear that the developers didn't have enough time to properly finish the game. As it is now it's ugly and full of bugs and bad gameplay. A shame really, because with some proper polishing it could've been a really good platformer. [Jan 2010]

Though let down its by haphazard combat mechanics, there are enough positives to The Lost Frontier to make it worth checking out for both fans of the series and of platforming games in general.

Visually, it looks decent, but not great. [Feb 2010, p.93]

I find this game highly underrated. Most complaints I hear about it are either easy to get over or not even there. Like all other Jak games,I find this game highly underrated. Most complaints I hear about it are either easy to get over or not even there. Like all other Jak games, it's really fun once you get the hang of it, even though a little frustrating at times. But what Jak game isn't? Still a great series though. Expand

A deep disappointment for Jak fans, and a sad epitaph for the series. The camera is broken to the point that the game is frustrating. (As A deep disappointment for Jak fans, and a sad epitaph for the series. The camera is broken to the point that the game is frustrating. (As others have pointed out, the game is ported from the PSP version, and uses the shoulder-button camera rotation from that version instead of the proper right-stick camera control PS2 players expect.) The Dark Daxter sequences are annoying. The auto-aim of some of the guns makes the shooting gallery trials feel like a burden. The space action is fun, but it isn't enough to make up for the rest. I was so excited to finally get my hands on The Lost Frontier and continue the amazing journey.Unfortunately, there were some very disappointing factors in this new game that in my opinion lowered the reputation of the Jak and Daxter series drastically. The fact that this game wasn't made by Naughty Dog threw me off.Why would you start a game series so unbelievable, then hand it over to a company that makes poor, half ass games like Phineas and Ferb 3 - Across the 2nd Dimension... High Impact seriously?! Everything from the graphics,to the camera positioning to the range of movements and weapon ability is badly effected in this new game. They need to remake The Lost Frontier by Naughty Dog and continue the series the way its supposed to be,unbeatable, unbelievable and beautiful.C'mon Naughty Dog,keep it up! I will never ever buy a naughty dog or high impact game again, naughty dog should be ashamed, they gave up because they couldn't make it look more realistic without taking the characters personality away, I wouldn't have minded the jak 3 graphics with a modernized animation of course would have been awesome compared to this trash. Such a shame, naughty dog get your title back one day please.... Expand
