Perfects everything Origins did and enhances them in ways you never thought an Assassin's Creed game could. Odyssey has it all.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey becomes one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Its history involves from beginning to end and the recreation of Ancient Greece is simply sublime. Its mechanics are the result of everything learned in previous chapters and achieve an immersive gameplay. If you are a fan of the saga and you like RPG games, Assassin´s Creed Odyssey is an essential on your bookshelf.

With Odyssey, Ubisoft has crafted the biggest Assassin's Creed to date. A colossal open world, action RPG, that can go toe to toe with the biggest names in the genre. If you're a fan of this kind of game, don't miss it.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is big and beautiful. Could it be a much better game? Sure. But it's an amazing adventure with echoes of the Greek classic tales about travels and fantasy.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a superb open world RPG. It can be a little rough around the edges, but there's a gameplay freedom to this particular adventure that's really a cut above what the series has attempted previously. With a gameplay loop that simply never stops giving, Ubisoft's recreation of ancient Greece is an amazing achievement, and in some ways, a genuine step forward for open world game design.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey throws so much stuff at you, it's difficult to sift through it all. It's a beautiful game to look at and the story is intriguing, but it feels like a game that could have been a little more ambitious if given more time to develop. There's good ideas, from the branching story and character choice to the return of ship-based combat, but its ambitions also fray around the edges in a way that Origins didn’t.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features a rich, lush world lessened by its repetitive activities. Though the main story is compelling, completing it requires you to participate in a massive amount of level grinding through less-than-stellar side quests. There’s plenty to do in this world, but a lot of it feels like busy work that fights to stay exciting or compelling. Odyssey is yet another open world game that misinterprets the meaning of more content.

I've invested 700 hours in this game and with 3 playthroughs with Kassandra and one with Alexios.

The story is a lot better than in Origins.

The combat is harder. I ragequitted several times until I managed to adapt to the new combat.
Be aware there is a forced enemy level scaling that you cannot turn off unlike you had the option in Origins. Ubi added easy, normal and hard mode after many people complained.
Sometime, especially if you are surrounded my many enemies it's better to run away and hide and try again.

Every microtransaction is also avalaible for free through the ingame orichalum. Tho it is a lot of griending and luck needed to get the rare stuff from the shop. They upped the chance on getting the legendary items on the oikos store with one of their latest updates.
There is no need to buy them in the helix store.
Or check the Nexus mods page, just don't give Ubi your money for microtransactions.

I get the feeling that many negative reviews are from oldschool AC gamers that can't or wont adapt to the new gamestyle. I've played AC 1,2, Black Flag, Rogue and Origins so far.

The romance options are more of a fling rather than a serious approach like we are used from the Mass Effect series. But this is Ubi's first approach and with enough feedback they might be doing better in the next game.

Also the Dev's take in a lot of feedback from the gamer community and this is awesome.

So in conclusion this game is worth it's money and has imo a lot of replay value.

If you play your Kasslexios as gay or asexual you should keep your finger from the first DLC (legacy of the first blade) for several reasons.
If you wnat to know more about that you better go and spoil yourself before you decide to buy it or not.

The 2nd DLC (fate of atlantis) is okay.

Except that Odyssey has competely lost it´s identity. The game is set before the origins of the franchise. You don´t play as a assasin because there is no such thing. Behind all of the microtransations and grindy gameplay is a great game with a beautiful aesthetic of greek culture and history. But sadly theBehind all of the microtransations and grindy gameplay is a great game with a beautiful aesthetic of greek culture and history. But sadly the game bases its game play on these micrtransactions and they cast a shadow on this review as a whole. It is basically Assassins Creed Origins but located in ancient Greece rather than Ptolemaic Egypt. But even in Origins the mechanics weren't as grind heavy as there were at least ways to gather resource quickly in the form of attacking shipments of resources and taking them. Here there is no such mechanic and finding resources in order to upgrade your armor and weapons will be one of the hardest things you will have to do in this game. Of course the reason behind this grind is that they sell resource kits filled with material required to upgrade in their online store. in some cases I had armor in my sets that were 20 levels behind my current cap at level 50 because at that level the amount of resources required to upgrade were as much as 600 to 700 just for one upgrade and as a reference the most I have gotten from an ore is 10. So these mechanics alone are enough to drive my score down to a 5. But everything in combination heavily outweighs any of the good that is to be seen in this game. The amount of detail in this game is breathtaking and it seems Ubisoft really did their research when looking up how life in Greece really was in this time period. instead of plain white marble structures everything is painted and beautifully filled with color much like at the time period. And Greek pronunciations and dialect are a welcome change from the whitewashed hockey British accents you see in most film set in ancient Greece. Now while being historically authentic to culture and aesthetic doesn't mean they got everything right. For the love of god where is the hoplite warfare that was indicative of the time period. Why are there so many Spartan ships. Why do they make this war seem like it lasted a couple of weeks when it was really 30 years. Why is the plague played down so little when it was really the main reason Athens lost the conflict. Why is this spartan soldier fighting with two maces who did it. Not having his shield alone was enough for him to lose his spartan citizenship.
This games combat is enjoyable just like origins and most of it was copy and pasted from origins to fit this game. And specific bows aren't necessary for specific actions they were added onto the skill tree for this game instead which is a welcome change of pace for bow combat.
Characters are also interesting and engaging. Though much of your interaction with them is forced rather than something that is sought out. As stated above this game is incredibly grindy. So in order to progress through the main story you a forced to do these sidequests rather than wanting to do them on your own. Use The Witcher 3 on how you should base secondary mission element into your game. So even in character development microtransations rear their ugly face into this game. Although I did enjoy my discussions with Sokrates and Alkibiades though I will never understand why they made him so effeminate. But if you want to hear me ramble and say the **** word more times than can be counted check out my review on my youtube channel.
