I can’t think of a better platformer released in the past several years. Crash 4: It’s About Time is an absolute must buy and it’s truly about time that Activision returned Crash to his former glory. Hopefully we don’t have to wait another 20 years before we get another sequel.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is the perfect distillation of classic gameplay, and modern gaming demands. It is full to bursting with content, things to earn and masses of replayability. Though its difficulty may be too high for some, it’s definitely the best Crash Bandicoot has ever been and deserves its place alongside the original trilogy. A classic modernised and a modern classic.

Although the game has some flaws, Crash 4 is a joy to play thanks to a great deal of content. The platforming action will bring a smile to your face, no matter if you're a fan from back in the day or if this is your first Crash title.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has everything that made Naughty Dog's original trilogy one of the most popular game series of the second half of the 90's. The same addictive gameplay is mixed with new elements we have not seen before in the series. The result is an adventure that we continue to play long after the final scenes have rolled by.

It’s a shame, then, that some of the level design choices don’t really pair up with the engine Toys for Bob has built this love-letter to 90s platforming games in. Loose and floaty physics, an abundance of different mechanics that often feel part-baked, and some design choices that feel sadistic – rather than simply difficult – leave this approach to Crash Bandicoot feeling less like a true sequel, and more like a licensed spin-off.

It’s beyond challenging but amazingly satisfying; every jump, every spin, every collectible it’s so damn satisfying! The level design is both gorgeous and genius, the many obstacles you face are fantastic; they prove not only challenging but fun as well. The story in this game is surprisingly amazing, and it’s both comical and engaging with its twists and turns. The game is also stunning, and the soundtrack oh my lord, the soundtrack is catchy as all hell; it’s amazing. The game also offers many unique ways to play from playing the main levels normally from reversing them and making some elements different and let me tell you it’s very noticeable changes. But the best feature by far is that you can play as different characters, they all feel different and unique and let me tell you they are all awesome! The game also has bonuses like skins hidden gems a nice multiplayer mode and hidden levels to find as well, it’s all packed in this amazing adventure and without a doubt the best Crash game by far! Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time does the impossible, by providing both fun and challenging into a balancing state that can not be ignored, it’s platforming is on point and the story is comically engaging, not to forget the many things you can perform besides the story levels, this game is truly one of its kind, and without a doubt a perfect platformer. (A Masterpiece 5/5) You Must Play It! Expand

Easily the best crash bandicoot game I have ever played. The visuals and art style are amazing, it had some of the best graphics in any crashEasily the best crash bandicoot game I have ever played. The visuals and art style are amazing, it had some of the best graphics in any crash bandicoot game, the level design is top notch with some of the most creative and varied levels in any platforming game, the gameplay is superb the controls are very tight, almost every level have unique characteristics and enemies with cleverly designed platforming sections and the quantum masks are extremely fun to utilize with epic and awesome boss battle and I enjoyed the other playable characters and the soundtrack is very catchy, I enjoyed the story it had fun characters and the cutscenes are fun to watch with great dialogues. However can't give it a 10/10  because of the loading times and other few nitpicks, getting the box gem can be a fun challenge but some of the levels have boxes hidden off screen so you will miss boxes a lot and it's a cheap way to force you replaying the levels and wait for a long loading times, but collecting boxes is not the only side stuff you can do, you have time trials of course and the no death gem and the perfect relics, and the perfect relics are ridiculous the levels are too long and difficult so beating them while breaking every box and not dying just don't work it's not fun it's just tedious because you have to wait around half minute every time you replay the levels, a solution for this is just remove the loading screen and the completion will be more than fine and manageable, the inverted mode is cool but I don't know why you have to collect six gems in every level again, the flashback tapes are the only great side content it'll give you new levels and extra dialogues, those things are optional so don't bother doing them if you are not interested, playing the game casually and just going from level to level and enjoying the level design until you beat the story it's one of the best platforming games ever made Expand

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a welcome return for the title character that is competently made and gorgeous to look at. The levelsCrash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a welcome return for the title character that is competently made and gorgeous to look at. The levels are generally longer than those in the original trilogy and you get to play as other characters like Cortex too. There's a lot to do here.

However, I can state that while I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the game, I did not find myself enjoying the second half as much. The reason? The difficulty. This coupled with the very long levels really tried my patience in the latter stages of the game. I was stunned at how difficult it was to simply finish a level. The thought of trying to get 100% in this game fills me with dread!

Overall, I think this game will satisfy fans of Crash Bandicoot who were hoping they would finally get a sequel that is on par with the original trilogy.

A decent attempt to bring Crash Bandicoot back for another adventure.
Unfortunately though, the game plays just like the older games, it's outdated and has some rough edges regarding the gameplay.

It's not bad by any means, infact it's quite enjoyable, and there are some additional new gameplay mechanics, but it does nothing new, and nothing about it is special.

The Quantum Masks are very creative, each one of them has its own unique ability, and they're very fun to use.

The multiple playable characters are all great, Tawna is by far the best character, she has the best levels, her moveset is very smooth and her tools are well implemented. Dingodile is fun aswell, being able to shoot things and fly feels good.

Most levels are fine, but some of them are just straight up frustrating, mechanics not working correctly, movement being clunky, weird hitboxes and just overall unfair.

The boss fights are... whatever, some of them are lame while others are artificially difficult, what a letdown.

And finally I just want to talk a little bit about the new art style, long story short, it's ugly, the animations are awkward, and most characters look off (there are some exceptions though, personally I think the new Tawna looks fantastic and pretty badass).

This one is a weird case, I like Crash Bandicoot, but the gameplay was cool many years ago, now it's just not on par with other modern platformers, it feels and plays the same after all these years.

Also, no split-screen couch co-op? No actual multiplayer? Really?
    Well, that was disappointing.

    Final Rating: "Decent" ~ 6/10.
