"I can’t think of a better platformer released in the past several years. Crash 4: It’s About Time is an absolute must buy and it’s truly about time that Activision returned Crash to his former glory. Hopefully we don’t have to wait another 20 years before we get another sequel." ... Read full review

"Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is the perfect distillation of classic gameplay, and modern gaming demands. It is full to bursting with content, things to earn and masses of replayability. Though its difficulty may be too high for some, it’s definitely the best Crash Bandicoot has ever been and deserves its place alongside the original trilogy. A classic modernised and a modern classic." ... Read full review

"Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has everything that made Naughty Dog's original trilogy one of the most popular game series of the second half of the 90's. The same addictive gameplay is mixed with new elements we have not seen before in the series. The result is an adventure that we continue to play long after the final scenes have rolled by." ... "It’s a shame, then, that some of the level design choices don’t really pair up with the engine Toys for Bob has built this love-letter to 90s platforming games in. Loose and floaty physics, an abundance of different mechanics that often feel part-baked, and some design choices that feel sadistic – rather than simply difficult – leave this approach to Crash Bandicoot feeling less like a true sequel, and more like a licensed spin-off." ... This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I can only recommend this game to fans of monotonous grinds and difficulty that no man should ever have to endure. If you are a completionist and it’s a reason you love Crash games just stay away. This is a nightmare. They put WAY too much stuff in here to do and there’s not a lot of it that is actually enjoyable. They went and made the most Crash game ever and not in a good way. The levels and game itself seem pretty fun but when you throw in completionist stuff like the box gems (which are now more annoying than ever because there are stupidly hidden boxes everywhere), collecting wumpa fruit gems, dying less than 3 times each level gem, the hidden gem on every level, having to get platinum relics on every level, doing all of that on the “inverted style” level for every level AND the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life with the N Sanely Perfect relics where you have to beat every level without dying WHILE collecting every single box........ you have a game that I absolutely despise. And it’s crazy how simple it would’ve been to make me love it. Throw out the stupid inverted levels, make relic requirements to only need gold or even just regular relic, and get rid of the n sanely perfect relics and you have yourself an amazing game I would’ve recommended to anyone and everyone. But stay away from this game unless you enjoy suffering. And this is coming from someone that 100% completed Super Meat Boy. Expand

With that being said, this needs to be MY LAST game review ever in this industry. I feel as if these "game companies" do not listen to a word that comes out of our mouths, unless we are being super kind/sweet/loveable towards them. I wish my life was that easy where I was "rarely" critiqued in anything that I do. But that is not reality and this is why Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, struggles to beat the sales of Crash Bandicoot 2 and Crash Bandicoot 3. If the "AAA" industry continues to just listen to "consumers" that buy set products and only state "the little" that is wrong with these "games, movies, anime" and etc., we are going to continue to have "buggy, broken, glitchy, and so forth" products. The constant excuses that comes out of these "consumers, customers and gamers" mouths, it is downright exhausting/takes too much of my time to try to break down. Now sit back, take Tawna's and Coco's painted toes out of your mouths for just five minutes and HEAR what I am trying to say ok? Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a GOOD game. But it is not EXCELLENT! (Far from it)

I don't really want to go into a lot of detail with the game's story and etc. Just watch any other Youtuber that "overly" praises this game and misses the basic details in game design. (No offense) Here are my pros, cons and final conclusion. (Yes. I will buy Spyro 4 and Crash Bandicoot 5 when it will be announced)

Pros:
1. Gameplay is fine. (Nothing really new. There are some new innovations here and there, but I have seen it before in other games)
2. Storytelling is great and the voice acting is spot on.
3. 3 of the 4 masks were a joy to interact with in certain levels.
4. Tawna and Dingo levels are a blast.
5. Graphics and art style are quite presentable. (Could have been better but beggars can't be choosers)
6. Music is well done. (Not as great as the originals and has an over reliance on remixing old songs)
7. Tons of replayability (Even if it is over unlockables that you really don't care about sadly)
8. Retro difficulty is a nice touch
9. Enemy designs
10. Stages are awesome and fun to play/re-play in. (Except the 2nd to final level. That level is an absolute game design nightmare)

Cons:
1. The character designs overall are pretty questionable. (I guess this is all they could stick with. Not bad but not great either. It's debatable yet I can tolerate it.)
2. The true ending sucks. I really did not want to see Oka Oka again. Having him being left for dead, would have been just fine. It would have been better if a new scientist, the fake bandicoots or heck, Spyro appearing out of nowhere, would have been better for a secret ending. This was just LAZY! In fact, Nina Cortex is barely in the game. Seriously? What about Crunch Bandicoot?
3. Level design is all over the place. (Play the 2nd to final level and you will see what I am talking about)
4. Boss fights are TOO EASY!
5. The game overall is sort of easy, but fair in difficulty. (It is all about timing and having patience. Crash Bandicoot 1, will always be the hardest one of the bunch. Have you played the 2 scrapped levels in the N sane Trilogy?)
6. No new upgrades for moves for each character. (That is very disappointing)
7. The Cortex levels STINK! (The platforming is awful)
8. There are some slight camera issues in certain areas. (What platformer doesn't have that?)
9. The constant mocking of the "mediocre" Crash games, is funny at first but gets kind of annoying. (Without those other Crash games, this game wouldn't even exist. Plus they weren't even all that bad as certain Youtubers, make it seem like it to be)
10. The unlockables are a waste of time. (For those who have fully completed the game, I double salute you.)
11. The skins you unlock, don't really do anything. It is just a cosmetic. (Cool looking ones but that it is)
12. Controls feel a little off as you progress through the game and the jumping (while somewhat fixed in a patch) is a little floaty.
13. The Dingo and Tawna levels are WAY TOO SHORT!
14. Coco plays exactly like Crash, with no big differences. (That makes me sad)
15. There are barely any alternative paths, the crystals are gone, (could have been used as a method to unlock a 2nd alternative ending of some sorts) and the multiplayer is pretty lackluster.
16. You have to buy the digital edition in order to access the pre-order skins. Why?
17. Certain gameplay mechanics that could have worked in the "other" Crash games, are stripped.
18. Those awesome/creative levels where you scuba dive, ride a motor bike and etc., ARE GONE! Seriously?
19. The cosmic masks are forgettable at best and there is no way to switch between them after you beat the game.
20. The inverted stages are an eye sore for those who have eye disabilities.

SO CLOSE TO BEING PERFECT!!
