If you are more of a single player gamer like me, don’t let the online nature of Fallout 76 put you off… it’s eminently playable as a single player experience. If you are put off by the issues mentioned at the start then maybe steer clear (or at least wait to see if patches address your concerns), otherwise I’d say grab the Deathclaw by the horns and jump in (but maybe wait till you have powerarmour to do that.).
Fallout 76 retains the same captivating immersion, atmosphere and organic exploration that made Fallout 4 so enjoyable thanks to an excellent open world, though you’ll have to contend with a poorly implemented online component and the typical Bethesda technical hiccups and rough edges.
Haters gonna hate, this game is PERFECT. Biggest, most detailed and best looking fallout world. Largest variety on weapons, enemies, interiors, dungeons for any fallout game. I have played my fair share of bad games in my lifetime and this is not even close on being one of them. Do you want to just go ahead and hate like everyone else, do it, the game is doing just fine without you.
It’s easy to be critical with Fallout 76. The flaws are so easy to see that it has every single chance to be this year’s best meme in gaming. But if you enjoy multiplayer experiences with plenty of loot and a great leveling system, you can have a nice time cleaning up its radioactive wilderness.
Fallout 76 meant to change the very concept of the series, but turned out to be a complete disaster. The game is not only boring and empty, but sometimes simply unplayable.
After the first few hours of Fallout 76, you can expect a lot of the same mission types over and over again. Playing with friends is ideal, but it cannot overcome the constant repetition. Base-building and undiscovered locations serve to be the best portions of this radioactive mess.
Fallout 76’s mundane quest and lifeless story put too much weight on the aged combat and trivial crafting for them to bear. It’s a multiplayer experiment with far too many flaws to put up with, both in its limiting player interactions and its woeful technical polish. Fallout with friends is still an idea that could work one, but that’s not what Fallout 76 is serving up.
I dreaded every hour I had to keep playing Fallout 76 for review. As soon as the game was beginning to teeter on fun or interesting, a bug or a frustrating gameplay design element would quickly remind me that the game was otherwise.
This game is amazing to play with friends and every second of it is fun. Critic reviews are from the games early development state, invalidating most of them. The only bug I've run into was a glitch with ragdoll physics, and it went away very fast. Although not the best by yourself, running it with a team of homies is the best gaming experience ever. (I would also recommend that one teammate uses a flamer with the "Friendly fire" perk which heals teammates when you shoot them with fire). If you have friends who you can play this with, this should be the only relevant review for you! People will say it's pay to win but there are zero advantages to spending money other than cosmetics, and you get the "paid currency" from completing challenges. In my first few days of the game I had 15 dollars worth of the "paid currency," only through playing the game. Single player is NOT locked behind a paywall! The game defaults as a single player experience, and you have to invite, or accept invites, to play as a team. [Increasing your team size past 4 players does cost 12$ a month/99$ per year though(With other benefits of course)]. This game also has the greatest level up system ever, EVER. Get this game, play with your friends. THIS GAME IS TRENDING ON STEAM AS OF NOW FOR A REASON!!!
After playing the game for almost 4 years and achieving the platinum trophy on the ps4, it is clear that the game was built on bugs and open-world emptiness with not much interaction from the enemies. But, with new updates since the wastelanders, it has shown good positive aspects with the NPC's, multiplayer patches and new items.
Overall, the game is not a traditional fallout game that we love, but at least we can play with friends and try to enjoy the story missions.
I played FO76 for three years. When Fallout First showed up it was a great addition. You could stockpile resources to focus on other aspects of the game except grinding and building. The Settlers mod got stale quickly. I lost interest after the nukes became routine to launch. When I started playing it took three to four players to launch a nuke. Update the map, gameplay and weapons.
FO76 ran like an asthmatic pig uphill on PS4. However it runs pretty dreamy on PC. Personally I liked everything that FO76 had to offer except one thing a major deal breaker. The base game stash limit is a measly joke of 1,200 lbs. Not 1,200 items, but 1,200 numbered in weight. Ok back off to play FO4 for the umpteenth time. No problems hording to my hearts content in that one.
