Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 today is as beautiful as it was on Xbox One 12 months ago. Plus, the 20 Year Celebration Edition has plenty of contents to explore and play.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will go down in history for being a Triple A game with production values worth of a TV series. Every good aspect of the game are the same ones that made Tomb Raider (2013) a superb game, and it is still as enjoyable as it was back then. It is a must if you like action and adventure games and you will like it even with the lack of new mechanics.

Even if you’re not going to end up staying for the story, at least the brutal combat itself will keep you satisfied for hours on end. Stay merciless, Lara.

Fantastic game, similar to Uncharted ,but let's remember its Uncharted that was inspired on Tomb Raider.
This game has most of uncharted good parts but also adds a lot of non-linear stuff, its a semi-open world that you go back and forth to discover new things once you get new items and upgrades. Puzzles are far harder than uncharted but not too hard.
Also, why not... Lara is REALLY LOT. Lol
In general its a fantastic game that any hardcore game will enjoy. Strongly recommended.

She soon runs into a mysterious military organization known as Trinity, which intends to take the secret for their own nefarious means.

While I personally quite enjoyed the 2013 reboot many fans were understandably disappointed with the increased focus on combat rather than exploration and puzzle solving. This follow up certainly redresses the balance by not only introducing better stealth mechanics, but also through the inclusion of optional challenge tombs that each offer a reward or upgrade for solving the contained puzzle.

There are still plenty of faults with this game of course, from the unnecessary hand-holding, intrusive cut-scenes and poor melee combat but as with the first title in this rebooted series I enjoyed my time with it and I think fans of the older games will find this more to their liking as well.

Core gameplay is not bad, engaging and often gives you more tools to use. Open world exploration part is fun but you dont need to do it if you dont want to. It mostly gives you experience, new skills and stuff like that. I did not like the jumping part sometimes, especially from one ledge to another when you have to select direction. I also dont understand why there is no blind fire from cover. And no clear tutorial on how to use "special ammo".
Story is ...okay. The problem is that we the PlayStation players have so many similar games like this that have better story. There is not enough character development to connect with previous and future games. So I could not care for others apart from Lara. Ending dragged a lot. So called “ending boss battle” is just as cliche as you can imagine. And final cutscene clearly sets up "sequel".
There is definitely replayability value but not very high. They were some tedious puzzles, but I had to look up how to solve only once. I am glad that PlayStation gave it for free on PS plus, as I would’ve never bought it really, not a big fan of TR but am a fan of 3rd person games like this. Game is worth it for a heavy discount price I think (or free).
For 2020 the graphics hold up, they are not NextGen but they’re good enough. I would’ve loved to have 60 FPS, but even without it it’s definitely playable.
Bugs: few bugs exist, reload of checkpoint helped.
