While complaints can be leveled at Sword of the Necromancer based on repetition, that doesn’t mean that it’s bad. In fact, it’s enjoyable and recommended. Sure, Supergiant Games’ Hades devours this title’s lunch in that it’s a superior action rogue-like with great story. Barring that, Grimorio of Games built a fun and interesting dungeon crawler that’s deeper than it appears at first glance. The tale behind the stabbing is interesting and heartfelt, drawing the player further into the depths of the dungeon, while the action is exciting. An expansion to add more level and boss variety would go a long way to making this required playing, but anyone interested in this type of game should give this Sword of the Necromancer a swing.

Sword of the Necromancer is a real-time action RPG with roguelike elements. Reviving monsters after you beat them and having them fight alongside you is an interesting concept, but it never fully reaches its potential. The story about two girls - which plays out like a visual novel - is interesting and crafted with care.

Although Sword of the Necromancer has some exciting ideas, they never fully pay off. Be sure to check out some gameplay footage first to get a feel of what this roguelike has to offer.

Sword of the Necromancer is a brief adventure filled with engaging combat and an unexpected amount of heart. Like many roguelikes, repeated runs can grow a bit tedious and a little more visual variety would have been appreciated, but Necromancer is a viable option for someone looking for a bite-size dungeon crawl… And maybe a good cry, too.

As a dungeon-crawling roguelike, Sword of the Necromancer is quite predictable for the genre despite its clever resurrection mechanic.

Sword of the Necromancer includes a love story with queer characters who can revive monsters to fight alongside, a good variety of items, randomized senarios, and options to customize difficulty, with the promise of adding more content in the near future. Although it doesn’t shine brightly in any aspect, it does a fair job in all departments and proves that crowdfunded campaigns can work.

This game is far from finished. 20 different enemies, 5 boring basic bosses. A lot of weapons with no diffrennce in animation. Boring trapsThis game is far from finished. 20 different enemies, 5 boring basic bosses. A lot of weapons with no diffrennce in animation. Boring traps that are just squares. you can only hold 3 items. Your chest only has space for 20 items. The 5th boss is bugged asf and made me 3 runs after eachother because i would fell to the floor or the boss just left. The story is ok i really like the drawing and the voice over.
It just feels like a game made by 2 persons, Well let me tell you cause you cant skip the ending you get to see over 2000 names. How can such a big team deliver such a basic boring game is the question. Let me remind you that hollowknight is made by 3 people. Not worth your money beliieve me. Buy moonlighter instead or any other decent game.
