Geralt's last hurrah is a pleasure to experience; a fitting end to a stunning achievement.

Blood and Wine has been said to be the last pursuit for Geralt of Rivia for the foreseeable future according to CD Projekt Red. If that’s really true and we’re done with Witcher for a while, then Blood and Wine is most certainly the way to put this franchise to rest once and for all.

This is how you create DLC worth buying. Absolutely brilliant.

Blood & Wine is the perfect closure to a perfect game. A humongous DLC, with an absorbent plot and many, many things that you will want to do. Get involved with the Wolf's last adventure, but do it with enough spare time, since you will be playing non stop for many hours. I swear upon the heron.
  5. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Blood & Wine is a bargain by any standard. In fact, you’re almost better off thinking of it as a small sequel than just an expansion pack, so broad, multifaceted, and rewarding is the experience it delivers.

Our review of Hearts of Stone mentioned that it was a shining example of how to create meaningful downloadable content, and yet Blood and Wine manages to top it in nearly every way imaginable.

For players who just want more Witcher, there’s no doubt that Blood And Wine delivers. It has a whole new land to explore, there are tons of things to do, and there’s enough content to keep someone busy for dozens of hours. On the other hand, it felt to me like the entire Witcher experience had already peaked, so following it up with something that’s just not as good leaves things in an awkward place. The last ten minutes are absolutely worth seeing, but the hours that come before it? Maybe not so much.

Expand

This is at a much larger scale with a new map and the game itself got impressive upgrades. Wild Hunt's interface was my favorite among RPGs. Now it looks and functions even better. The new map of Toussaint is as big as Skellige, full of colors, and minus the annoying contours. I had to stop every two minutes to enjoy the atmosphere. Story seems exciting so far with great new characters and monsters. Scrpt and voice acting are phenomenal as ever. Camera work is more cinematic. If you are a fan of Witcher gear then your mastercrafted items will be getting the Grandmaster upgrade. There are new mutations, Gwent cards, a whole bunch of new and exciting things a Witcher fan may dream of. If you have enjoyed Wild Hunt and Hearts of Stone, you must not miss out on this. It is well worth the price. Expand

This DLC is just incredible. TONS of content for such a modest price. CDPR, bravo guys!
    In short:
    - whole new big region. It's size is pretty much equal to Velen, but filled twice with side quests/interesting non journal encounters etc.
    - many references to Geralt origins as a witcher and his first adventures.
    - finally stand alone quest with knight tournament! Even though it's kinda easy, I'm really enjoyed this quest
    - as usual 10/10 main plot line with LOTS of adventures/noble intrigues/hunts/boss fights
    - seems like 80% of Toussent monsters in this one are completely new and were made for this DLC exclusively
    - new 5 witcher armor sets to craft (also, they added a painting option which is neat, but why only for witcher sets?..)
    - Skellige deck. Oh god, this is just a fresh breath of air for gwent maniacs like me. Thanks for the person who designed this one. Definitely my second favorite deck after NR from now on. It's not as powerful as NR since Skellige deck doesn't have any spies in it, but if you manage to collect them all and get heroic cards it'll become a decent deck. Winning with it to Nilfs or NR is pretty satisfying once you get used to it! (for real, guys, you should release stand alone gwent game)
    - sweet manor to upgrade with lot of details, like usual + your own butler with some gwent opponent option
    - 3 bandit forts to clean up (Butcher from Blaviken returns!)

I'm not a big fan of Witcher 1-2, but 3 is just made me one. And B&W is a best way to finish a game.
    Nice work, guys! GOTY #2

Seriously, CD Projekt Red could take all the cutscenes from Witcher 3 and turn it into a top-rated TV show. Never have I ever been moreSeriously, CD Projekt Red could take all the cutscenes from Witcher 3 and turn it into a top-rated TV show. Never have I ever been more immersed and interested in a story in a video game!

My review comes from the perspective of someone who hasn't played the game, but has watched someone play through the whole main story of Blood and Wine. I have little knowledge of Geralt and his past, or of the Witcher universe.

With that in mind, the script writing, character animation, and voice acting are spectacular, and encouraged me to buy the game! Every conversation feels like an actual conversation between people rather than robots.

Each side quest, no matter how insignificant, has layers of depth to it. For example, one quest, called 'Big Game Hunter', has you escorting and protecting a count while he takes pictures of creatures in nature. You learn later that he's doing this because his daughter used to love seeing creatures in nature, but is unable because of an injury.

In something as insignificant as escorting a rich guy around, you get to see the heart and soul of a person. You get to understand the count, his family, and even his bodyguards. In most RPG's, quest-giving NPC's could easily be replaced with notice boards.

In conclusion, the hype is real: The Witcher 3 and all of its DLC is well worth their critical praise. CD Projekt Red has made a piece of video game art, and I am not sure how someone may be able to surpass them in their achievement.

It could be a whole new game. So the price for it its so good. Really good creations of vampires and his power.
DLC effectively closes the whole story of Geralt !
