Mageseeker is perhaps my favorite thing to come out of Riot Forge publishing yet. Digital Sun has already proven that they have a good grasp of what makes an action-RPG fun, but they put their chops to great work here, bending a highly interesting corner of League of Legends lore to their style. Sylas fits them well, and they make his story sing in turn. Between compelling ability-stealing combat, chain-flinging traversal, an ever-expanding and upgradeable arsenal, and a beautiful musical score guiding another awesome visual and narrative interpretation of League of Legends, Mageseeker is an incredible time. Whether you’re a fan of League of Legends or not, this is a journey worth seeing through to the end.
The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is a magical RPG with consistent and interconnected mechanics. You will make use of each of the gameplay mechanics that it proposes. Nothing is left over. It is a very balanced installment both on narrative and mechanical levels. The designs are simple, but their fluidity stands out. The difficulty level is enough to keep you entertained without getting too tense. Seeing characters from League of Legends lore repurposed efficiently is fantastic.
If you dosen't play League Of Legends, this may be a simple and 'ok' game, with a fun combat and a simple and well develope history, but if you like me played this game for years, Mageseeker is certaly one of the best expericence will you have in intreteniment. The game respect the lore of League, and develop increrible well new and old characters. You feel the bossfights, the increrible OST, is amazing! I will not give 10 because the game have bugs, but is very playable!
The Mageseeker has consciously drawn its line. It didn't go overboard, but it made an enjoyable game within the known and familiar boundaries of the hack and slash genre. Not to mention the fact that it answers existing questions instead of further complicating the story of League of Legends.
The Mageseeker is a concentrate of speed and action, penalized only by a monotony of the stages and a scarce variety of contents offered in the exploration. Thankfully, the very deep and properly layered battle system manages to counter this issue. In the 15 hours needed to finish the adventure, The Mageseeker will certainly not encourage replayability or backtracking, but will be able to put your skills to the test even in secondary missions. In short, the sum of the parts makes this League of Legends spin-off worthy of being played even by those who are not a strict connoisseur of the Riot universe.
Riot Forge has an incredible track record of matching studios with the right project, and this is the best example yet. It is such a strong execution of an idea that it ultimately suffers for being underscoped. Had The Mageseeker had the full force of Riot behind it I can easily see it being a game of the year contender, but it feels like the publisher isn’t ready to go all-in on these outside projects yet. I don’t think Sylas’ story should end here, and I’m excited to see what Digital Sun does with the world of Runeterra next.
The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is a harrowing combination of unimaginative, tired game design and stale writing. I hate tearing the game down because I believe the developers worked hard on it, but this is a League of Legends game that is going to attract fans of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA). While this $30, 15-hour game feels like 45 hours to complete, that’s $2 per hour of pain. I couldn’t wait for the game to be over, and if I weren’t reviewing it, I would have quit by the fifth hour. I don’t care how much of a League of Legends fan you are, attractive pixel art and decent boss battles aren’t enough to justify this investment.
This game is one the best indie adventure game i played recently, it was a great idea from RiotForge to work with Digital Sun.
I hope this studio will come with a new banger
Um bom jogo, bem divertido e mecânicas únicas para o contexto do jogo, as sides quests são meio repetitivas mas isso não afeta o jogo. Jogo terminado em 13h com 100% de progresso.
7/10 - Bom sólido.
Mageseeker provided me a solid 11 hours of nice and very pleasant gameplay. The storyline is not complex, but it make a nice background to understand decision's and process of changing - not only Sylas but all teammates. Yeah, it's a little buggy but there are no problem with finish game. A little bit empty for my opinion and surely way, way overprice. If you like e.g Moonlighter, you should wait for some discount and try it for your own.
The only thing i like about this game is the story. That is the only reason i finished the game.
Is Riotforge an indie company? NO!!!
So I am going all out on those mfkers.
Where is voice acting? This game had a fascinating story that really needed voice acting, where the fk are those? Their previous game had voice acting why not here?
There is literally no environmental sound. Like wtf? if you mute the music the game literally has no environmental sound.
They could not add voice acting but did not forget to add a **** mf to the game to check off the woke list.
For bugs, in some boss fights I completely lost control over sylas. I had to redo some of the boss fights. And some boss fights were ridiculously unbalanced af.

only worth 10 dollar or watch it on utube. (loooool game 30$ and dlcs 16$).

- 8 - 12:30 hour long.
-very very very repetitive meh gameplay (u will bored after 3 h), generic story, no voice acting, annoying glitches, very very repetitive simple lvl design and environment.
-cant skip scenes, u and enemies stuck in annoying terrains, bad auto lock aiming, same side missions over and over. -good steal magic mechanic and some good bosses.
-buy Ruined King: A League of Legends Story instead.
Summary From Digital Sun, creators of Moonlighter, The Mageseeker is an action RPG in the League of Legends universe. Play as Sylas, a mage now freed from years in captivity. Wield the chains that once bound you and liberate Demacia from the Mageseekers' tyranny.
