Hi-Rez has been able to do what no other company has done and that is being a true MOBA experience, filled with depth, strategy and challenge to the consoles.
SMITE is a breath of fresh air to the MOBA genre. The changes in the control and the camera and his multiple game modes do that it is a very advisable game. You will want to try.
A very well supported, brilliant game with constant updates, but be warned it is brutal to newcomers! you will get wasted and left frustrated but once you learn the gods and know what happens when you hit what button you can reek your revenge. SMITE is easily one of my most played games ever.
There’s a lot of learning involved to make the most of Smite – and not enough done to introduce the more complicated elements – but as a competitive multiplayer game this is a game you really ought to try.
SMITE is the first MOBA ever to perform great on console. Definitely, the third person perspective is what the genre needed to excel in home systems and controller schemes, which represents a breath of fresh air on Xbox One.
Okay, so, when I said that Smite should be free, I didn’t mean to say that it is terrible. What I meant is that the game honestly just isn’t all that good. But I can play as the main character from Conker’s Bad Fur Day, though… so that’s something, at least.
Great game. It really doesn't have many game modes, or maps for that matter. Which is a drawback. Another downside is the graphics are crisp and clear, but not what you'd think of as a current gen game. Now that we are past the bad points, I should explain why I give it a perfect 10. The game modes it does have, are extremely fun. I was never into MOBA, and still am not into many, but this one feels different. The leveling system is effective, and so is the buying system. There is a counter to just about anything, so nothing, not even the characters, is truly unbeatable. Now EVERY game has this is one way or another. Nothing can always be perfectly even, without there being only one thing. Say CoD, some guns are much stronger than others, so you're going to use that gun, or something that can compete with it right? The concept stands in Smite. You have the characters that are VERY strong, but aren't unbeatable. Now, if you plan on playing, let me give you a note of warning. Some characters are beyond annoying. Whether the fact they kill so fast, or are so hard to kill. There is always a drawback. Say the stronger characters, the ones that will 2 shot you, they have so little health, if you can land the hits, you can do the same to them. Another great thing, that interested me in the first place, is the fact it is a free to play game, with OPTIONAL microtransactions. You don't have to buy the other gods. You can unlock them without paying real cash. And it isn't as if you have to go on a hardcore grind to ever get them. Play maybe 12 matches of the primary gamemode and tada, you have enough points to get another god if you wish. I rarely encounter server issues. A last point to make here is the community, some people are hostile, this is in every game. But most people are cooperative, and want to work together to win the match. The community for the most part is welcoming of newcomers, and will coach them. The only place you will find people hostile to newcomers is the Ranked league, which by the time you unlock it, you wont exactly be new anymore.
Been playing this game for about 4 to 5 years, started out fun when you know absolutely nothing at the game and are bad. But when you get better at the game (Diamond elo+) all people do is pick the most broken picks and build absolute toxic. For example you can be playing a warrior (hercules to be specific) and because your passive gives you power you can literally LITERALLY 2 shot someone at early game even though you built no damage and a relic that gives only protections and mana. Honestly would not recommend playing this game if you're gonna get into it hardcore would recommend playing DOTA or LoL because at least those game aren't completely broken like this trash heap.
All free to play games are pretty much garbage for ****. Think I'm going to give it a nice score like a lot of these scrubs just because it's a free game? Guess again! If it's free that's nice and all but if it's also a crappy game that helps push the cancer known as micro transactions into the face of gaming then of course I'm going to give this game a low score. Being free is nice and all but since the game is pretty much a waste of time, I can't give it a high score. Sorry dudes. But time is much more valuable than money and you wont be getting that back when you play a crap game. If some one gave you free food then that's great... Unless it's a plate of dog crap. Then it's just insulting...
I know the micro transactions in this game are not nearly as bad as many other micro transaction games... But that still doesn't mean much. At the end of the day they are still micro transactions...
Even if they are cosmetic only it's a problem. Hear me out. Remember old fighting games where you would unlock costumes for the fighters by completing challenges in the game? That was great! That gave you some drive to actually play the game and earn unlockables through hard work and effort. With micro transactions you just buy them... Any idiot running around with a cool outfit just got it in some weak card pack or something that they got with micro transaction real life money. It's not like they earned it in any respectable manner... You wont think that the player is a bad@ss for having that armor or outfit...
Also... The devs only have so much time to make the game. Time is precious and if the devs spend time making a micro transaction system then they are wasting time that could be spent on actually making the game better.
The visuals and music are meh... The story is meh... The replay value is meh... The multiplayer balance isn't there...
Just because it's free doesn't make it good guys. AM2R is a great metroid fanmade game and I would give that game a 8 or a 9. It's all about the quality guys...
