Coming from the ranks of Dota 2, Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story caught me off guard. It’s almost unfair how this League of Legends adventure manages to weave such an enthralling narrative, making me, a Dota fan, momentarily question my loyalties. It stands as a shining example in the League of Legends universe, offering a heartwarming tale that resonates with both fans and newcomers alike. The game’s strengths lie in its compelling narrative, beautifully crafted world, and thoughtful sound design, all of which come together to create an immersive and emotionally impactful experience. While Song of Nunu may not pioneer new gameplay mechanics or offer extensive replay value, it triumphs in delivering a narrative that is both engaging and meaningful. More than just a game, it is a fun-sized odyssey that resonates deeply, leaving a lasting impression on the heart and spirit.
From the beautiful presentation to the fun coming-of-age story, Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is easily one of Tequila Works’ best. Fans of League of Legends have had their hands full with Riot Forge’s other releases and they can have another helpful serving of a fantastic adventure game.
I've played convergence and mageseeker. IMO this is the best one purely on story/presentation/dialogue.
Its an easy/cosy game, a nice way to experience some freljordian lore.
My main issue is that the end was confusing, I still dont understand what the heart of the blue is really..
A great game for everyone who is a fan of the Runeterra lore or just the characters from League of Legends. It's a very comfy and cute game so it's not really challenging, but is still fun. My two favorite things in this game were the flute mechanic and BRAUM! Wouldn't really recommend this for someone who doesn't know Nunu and Willump though.
Fans of the world of Runeterra, and therefore of League of Legends, should absolutely check out Song of Nunu. It’s a fun way to explore some of the most prominent characters in the universe, as well as a popular area: the Freljord. And for those who aren’t as familiar with the setting, Song of Nunu is still an entertaining and heartwarming experience worth your time.
A strong contender for champion of League of Legends spinoffs, Song of Nunu is fairly lightweight but presents a charming, beautiful 3D platforming adventure for franchise veterans and newcomers alike.
Song of Nunu continues the "A League of Legends Story" series, proving once again the incredible experiences that the rich and deep world created by Riot Games can provide. It's hard not to get the feeling that the game could have been more, especially considering the quality delivered in Convergence and The Mageseeker, two titles that survive on their own merits, without needing League of Legends to exist. Despite some of its flaws, as well as serving as a cute adventure game for the younger set, Nunu and Willump's heart-warming adventure is even capable of melting the icy hearts of League of Legends players.
Despite some pretty visuals and endearing character interactions like snowball fights and the little high-five-belly-bounce you do after solving a big puzzle, Song of Nunu ultimately feels quite flat throughout. Compared to the other League of Legends Stories we’ve had recently, it definitely feels much more generic and a little too by-the-numbers. Younger gamers and die-hard fans will find a lot here that appeals, but for anyone else there’s little to get excited about.
Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is a cute adventure about friendship with some darker details to flesh out its stakes. Its basic platforming is nothing special, but the few smarter puzzles should make players sit up in their seats at least, and they’ll leave the game with a better grasp of the main characters’ world. It probably doesn’t do enough to warrant much attention from non-LoL fans, but it’s a gentle and accessible game which can be completed in one or two sittings, and very few platformers let you hug a yeti.
The story added a nice touch to the game. The gameplay was decent, with nothing particularly noteworthy. However, the lag spikes were really annoying, especially when loading new levels. Despite that, overall, the game is good.
only worth 20 dollar
- 5:30 - 6:30 hour long.
-useless easy combat, clunky controls, expensive,
short game, bad ai and glitches.
-good lore, good characters, good puzzles and music.
looks pretty bad on pc even on max settings. it's also a bit laggy, and the controls are not always intuitive. if the game has as good of a story as it says, i might play it more, but it just doesn't feel fleshed out. movement is very slow even when running. if the game ran smoother, i would forgive it for having such basic movement and combat. as for the story, it doesn't seem as well done as some reviewers are making it seem. the cutscenes ive seen so far were pretty empty, clearly designed to be translated into many languages very easily. that aspect is alright in concept, but the dialogue that's left feels like a skeleton. for a narrative puzzle platformer, i'm not getting much of any of the three elements. buy heavily discounted or just watch a let's play instead.
Things that are good: Good looking game that is quite easy to run, nice design, good lore dump.
Things that are bad: The controls on PC is quite horrible, too easy, stale combat, the main characters are too positive and happy making them less interesting in my opinion, too many puzzles that just slows everything down (maybe to add game time?),could use more secrets and things to collect, draws a bit too much inspiration from god of war, camera and combat can feel a bit sluggish sometimes, pacing is just overall too slow.
This game just feels like it caters too much at being wholesome making it feel like a game for kids, as an adult i dont think this games gameplay is interesting enough to warrant the very slow pacing. I would say that to this day the Ruined king game is easily still Riots best game yet.
The League community is hyping this game up a bit too much which isnt to this games benefit. For the people that dont like very slow paced games i would reccomend watching a playthrough of this game instead of playing it if you still care about the story.
