Cyberpunk 2077 is a flawed but captivating open-world RPG rife with conflict and deranged beauty. What the Stadia version lacks in the advanced bells and whistles of its PC counterpart, like raytracing and reliable 4K, it more than makes up for in accessibility and smooth performance across a variety of devices. Not to mention it still looks great too.

Runs really well on Stadia, and can't remember encountering more than 2 or 3 bugs throughout my entire playthrough. One was a game-breakingRuns really well on Stadia, and can't remember encountering more than 2 or 3 bugs throughout my entire playthrough. One was a game-breaking bug where an enemy wouldn't appear from an elevator but thankfully due to the generous autosave, I was able to reload the game and he eventually appeared.

The game itself is enjoyable, but definitely isn't the game that CDPR advertised over the past few years. The main story is fine, but relatively short and unmemorable. There are plenty of side quests and jobs to do, but none of them are much more than go to location, speak to someone, shoot a bunch of bad guys and obtain item.

Gameplay itself is good, with plenty of variety in weapons, mods and attachments, and this shows when in firefights, with the likes of shotguns and assault rifles packing plenty of punch. The cyberware upgrades also allow for plenty of different approaches to combat. I found the combat fun due to the various ways to approach, whether being stealthy, using cyberware to take out enemies or just go in guns blazing. The enemy AI is quite basic, so you'll not find enemies doing much more than shooting at you in a static position or taking cover the odd time.

My biggest issue with Cyberpunk 2077 is that Night City itself doesn't feel very alive. When driving, all NPCs seem to disappear and there are hardly any other vehicles on the roads. Bustling city centre areas aren't really that busy at all with just a handful of NPCs. And the NPCs themselves don't do much except for offer one line of dialogue, which is a shame as previews of the game mentioned you could interact with all NPCs and that they would have their own routines in Night City, which they don't. This is a shame as in terms of open world standards, it seems quite outdated, especially when older games such as GTAV, Red Dead 2, and even CDPRs Witcher 3 all do it better.

Overall, a good game held back by some limitations in terms of the game world itself and a so-so story.
