Aug 17, 2018State of Mind tells a captivating story of two men who find themselves wrapped up in a plot that touches on questioning life itself. Adventure game fans will delight in the fascinating futuristic story and its unique visuals and immersive setting complete the package.

Aug 16, 2018If State of Mind is slow, it’s only because it takes the proper amount of time to unfold its world and story. Gameplay may be a bit limited but there are so many good ideas about the concepts it evokes that you can’t help but love it.
-
Aug 15, 2018State of Mind stands out in its context where it places us in a dystopian future in which machines are colonizing the Earth. However, the story is poor and does not catch on. The characters are empty in personality and we will not empathize with them at any time. The gameplay and puzzles don't get any better in a very unambitious game with serious graphic problems.
-
Aug 13, 2018State of Mind has its moments to shine - certain plot beats in the final act do offer some genuine payoff, and some of those visuals are a joy to see running in docked mode or in handheld - but they’re too often lost in a mire of storytelling cliche and science fiction tropes you’ve seen done better countless times before. A set of in-game achievements do help break up the lengthy plot, but the awkward voice acting and lack of cohesion between its gameplay ideas ultimately make for a muddled experience at best.
-
Sep 13, 2018State of Mind has a rather peculiar look but its plot stands out as its greatest asset, as well as the availability of multiple characters for the players to control. On the other hand, despite the quality of the plot, it's also rather slow-paced and takes its time to grow, which will most likely put off the less patient players and the events are rather predictable for those who know the sci-fi genre.
-
Aug 23, 2018It’s just too long and player engagement is so minimal. I don’t like games that pretend to be games but are really just movies. State of Mind would make a great mini-series or book, but it’s not a great video game.
-
Aug 15, 2018State of Mind has a certain charm to it, but it's mired in a confusing story, simple puzzles, poor controls, and plenty of other issues.

Oct 29, 2020This is that kind of game, which is very hard to call a game... Gameplay is too simple, and that makes it boring, but plot is very good and immersive.
