The Champion’s Ballad acts as a perfect tribute to both Breath of the Wild and to the Zelda series.

Breath of the Wild's latest DLC The Champions' Ballad has some problems that cannot be ignored, but its best parts exceed even those of the main game.

Through such arduous trials, the Champions' Ballad pushes Breath of the Wild's mechanics to their limits, whether combat or puzzles. Hence this quest leads to discover all the subtleties of the gameplay, and explore this world deeper with no stone left unturned. Although the riddles are often composed of familiar refrains while the delicate, then ultimately moving narrative remains in the background, this expansion makes The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild even more unforgettable.

The Ballad of the Champions could have been an unforgettable farewell for Breath of the Wild, and instead it is just an excellent appendix.

As inessential as most story DLC tends to be, but despite a few unwanted encores this is still an entertaining, if unnecessary, story expansion.

Although, this new journey starts off in a not so welcoming manner, Link is immediately sapped of almost all of his hearts, and cannot continue before completing an extremely difficult challenge. I got through this section fairly quickly, but for people just coming back into Breath of the Wild, this challenge will be devastating. Other great DLC of Zelda!!! Expand

A few of the new shrines were more annoying than necessary, but other than that they were ok.

However, the new boss was poorly designed. It felt very cheap as Link just seemed utterly out-matched. I beat it on my first try, but due to its poor design and how unfair it felt, that battle was not much fun.

    Motion Controls:
There are a few universally held beliefs in gaming. One of them being; Motion Controls suck. At their best they are functional and at their worst they make the game near unplayable. For Champions Ballad, they tend to skew towards the later, especially in handheld mode. The motion control shrines in the base game were the biggest blight of the overall experience, but for some reason they force motion controls left and right in this DLC.

    Challenges VS New Content
The new dungeon in the game is great. Full of fun new puzzles that culminate in a fun boss fight. Everything else feels like challenges created using existing assets and mechanics. Rehashing previous fights, no new weapons (aside from one you don't get to keep), and playing a cartography version of "Where's Waldo" round out most of the time you'll spend most of your time on during this DLC.

If you have already played through the main game and completed all of the shrines this DLC is not going to supply you with dozens of hours of content. It is a nice supplementary piece for people who have yet to play through the game. It's worth the price but it's not exactly that the truck load of content a lot of us hoping for. If you have already completed the main bulk of the game, then this is only going to take you about 4 to 5 hours to chew through all of the content available in this package. Here is hoping there is a second wave of DLC that will supply us with new lands to explore and new weapons, bows, armor, and enemies. But overall this feels like the rehashing of a lot of things that are already in the game that have been slightly rearranged to make a new challenge.

Adding more shrines and using a 1-hit kill mechanic for the start of the DLC is terrible. This is hardly a plot driven “Story DLC” that Nintendo was billing it as. If you absolutely loved the shrines in BotW then this is for you. If you were hoping for something different, stay away. Expand

Compared with Witcher 3 DLCs - the work from nintendo is horrible
saddly all DLCs does not change the ending.

Content overview: Find 4 MetaShrines finish for each Metashrine 3 challenges and 3 shrines, go to the last dungeon. DLC is done ... Not funny and not good
