Exceptional battle systems, enemy encounter rates, an 'epic journey' with more twists than a pretzel and a creatively represented story... This is bound to be loved by both RPG fans and those few who hated RPG's for the obnoxiously random enemey encounters.
I loved Wild ARMs 3. It's a wonderful example of a great sequel and a great game, and I would recommend it to any fan of console RPGs. Since Squaresoft did the translation, even the purists should have few gripes.
Wonderful JRPG game for PS2. most over 100 hours gameplay in nice pos-apocalyptic world and desolate wasteland, dungeon large exploration powerful ancient guardian and secret boses, excellent system combat in intense battle within amplifield camera angles, this totally awesome game!
That said, there is no doubt that this is a fantastic game that contains believable characters (surely a rarity in the world of RPGs) and although occasionally stuttering in a fit of lost focus, manages to both charm and delight with its fresh locales and gung-ho attitude.
An underrated gem for the PS2, Wild Arms 3 boasts an impressive and well fleshed out cast of characters, an innovative combat system, a constantly escalating story with tightly written and well planned arcs, some of the best music of its era, all wrapped up in a delightful Wild West desertpunk package that stands out among RPGs to this day. The developers constantly went out of their way to break the JRPG standards of the time, both in mechanics and structure, and it shows. While the game’s visual polish has faded somewhat, it remains a solid title. Sony’s decision to re-release this on PS4 was no coincidence, because this game deserves way more love in hindsight. Im hoping that Sony reinvests in this franchise (though it’s not likely since the latest game has gone to mobile), because this one deserves a remake/update.
Could have been a gem but the overworld nonsense, cumbersome "puzzles" that are more like torture, forgettable NPCs (that you conveniently need to remember for quests), a perverse obsession with status effects, awful controls, far too frequent enemy encounters that reward far too little, and all sorts of other frustrations take what is actually a great game and make it almost impossible to enjoy for more than 3 minutes at a time. Play it for sure, but at your own risk. and it's one of those where you'll be playing for the rest of your life if you don't absolutely use a guide. No guide, then just don't even bother. it's a hassle even with one.
the man behind this game design is a moron. Using the same button for running and taking is the most stupid thing i ever saw in a game... This choice of game design make the millenium puzzle a pain in the butt. I hate this silly game
