Whether you're a fan of zombie games or not, you'll find plenty of content here that is fun. The gameplay is tight and lacks really any sort of gimmick. The only qualms I had was that the gameplay wasn't varied enough for the length of the game, but it was still a blast till the end.
With the advance we've seen from E2D 1 to E2D 2, I think the future looks pretty bright for this game franchise, and there are some areas they could pretty smoothly transition into. In the mean time I'm gonna go back to mashing up some zombies(and boxes).
Somewhere within Earn to Die 2 are the ingredients for some exhilarating ‘one more go' jeopardy-based gameplay, but the recipe used here is downright repulsive.
Earn To Die 2 is a bland, and repetitive grind that is one to steer clear of unless you like doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.
This seems like a fine and entertaining game at first. Graphics is nice, sound and music are good too. Driving through the levels, trying to jump to get to the alternative route or get the money box, is fun at first.
But after some time, it becomes apparent that the game is very boring and repetitive. You have to grind money to get most upgrades to complete the level. There is little skill involved you can drive a bit further if you really try, but in the end, only upgrades make a difference, so you just try over and over until you grind sufficient amount of money.
What's even worse, when you complete the level and get a new car, its not an upgrade, its downgrade. Your old upgraded car goes much faster and farther than a new one, but you are forced to use a new car and grind all the upgrades again.
All cars are basically the same car with different skins. Huge truck have the same difficulty going through zombies and crates, as a sport car. So in the end, you just have to repeat the same boring grinding over and over and over.
Levels are not too different either. Once you complete one or two, you've seen it all. There's various slopes, tunnels, 3 or 4 crate variants, wooden planks, and exploding barrels, that's all.
At later levels, new zombies start to appear, but they don't make any difference. Gigantic zombie is still killed with 1 bullet or with a collision as a small one, and slows you car down just the same as a small one. Fast zombies chase you, but don't do anything either.
Basically, this is a typical bad repetitive copy-paste android game, but ported to pc.
SummaryEarn to Die 2 is a 2D side-scrolling driving and upgrade game where you steer vehicles through a zombie apocalypse, literally smashing through zombie hordes along the way. As you progress through the game you will unlock new vehicles, upgrading them into the ultimate zombie-smashing machines!
