Kirby: Mass Attack has all the features of an excellent DS game - innovative controls, delightful gameplay and eye-popping visual style. This may be one the of the last DS games, but without a doubt, it is one of the greatest.
It's sad to see that Kirby this time around has lost so much of his former playfulness. The varied arsenal of creative attacks has shrunk down to a pathetic gang fight where the player plays the passive role of a bystander. The game never offers a proper challenge, and even though the visuals and audio are heavily 16-bit-inspired and charming, Kirby Mass Attack never really makes you want to keep playing.
YES, YES, YES!! I am a Kirby lover (I have all the Kirby games) but this is in the top 3!! It's wonderful game play and cuteness add to it a lot. The amount of fun I had playing this game was... well, too much to tell you!! The amount of hardships your pink puff (or pink puffs) need to break through and the amount of brain thought needed to solve puzzles to complete the level! New interesting mini-bosses, mini-games that need to be actual Kirby games (Strato Patrol, Kirby Quest... etc.)!! I love it! I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH! Plus, it's super Kawaii!
This game wasn't perfect but it was fun while it lasted, not a huge fan of them changing it up like this but it was a breath of fresh air, this game was much different from previous kirby titles. This game you play with the touchscreen which actually is my preferred method of control but it works for this game because it revolves around this gameplay wise. There is a lot going on and it is actually easy to control even if there are multiple kirbys' around. This game isn't perfect and I haven't played it in years so I don't think I can give much insight on it because of that, all I can say is that I played this game for quite a while.
SummaryOne day, an evildoer with a magic cane appears and splits Kirby into 10 pieces. Kirby sets off on a journey to return to his original form. Players use the touch screen to control a mass of Kirby characters in a new and novel way. Swipe the touch screen to launch them in a mass attack against enemies, then tap the enemies into submission...
