Battlefield V brings a lot to the table. Between the great gameplay, superb story from singleplayer, and customization of your character, there's something for everyone.

After spending quite a while with the game, I’m blown away that there’s still so much to discover. With dozens of collectibles to find in the single player campaign, a seemingly-unlimited number of weekly challenges, and the Tides of War looming large on the horizon, Battlefield V is the best this series has ever been, and easily the best FPS of the season.

With the return to World War 2, Battlefield reaches a new zenith thanks to meaningful innovations - if one disregards the single player.

Despite the bad press at the start, I have a lot of faith in Dice as a developer and they have delivered a fantastic shooter this year with Battlefield V after listening to their community and taking their feedback seriously.

The Battlefield series has a winning formula that Battlefield V doesn't deviate far from, at least for now. Conquest and the map roster don't mesh well together, however, Grand Operations--and the other modes within it--steal the show and foster some of the greatest moments the franchise has offered.
  6. Battlefield V successfully delivers expectations from gameplay perspective. The new featured Grand Operations mod and War Stories are great. But releasing with only 8 maps and lack of content is also concerning.

Battlefield V fails to impress the same way Battlefield 1 did. By all means, give it a try if you’re a fan of DICE’s previous work, but know that you’ll have to put up with some pretty glaring faults.

The gun play is fantastic! The sounds are fantastic! The only downsides to it I believe are that Dice had to use a lot of manpower to build an array of cosmetic items. So the release content feels a bit minimal. A lot of the guns are rehashed from BF1. You could argue that was the same with BF3 and BF4. But I was excited to see some iconic WWII weapons. I was also disappointed with some of the maps. A lot of them are small infantry focused maps. I much rather enjoy Battlefield's huge massive all out war battlefields and those are the maps I enjoy playing which are a few. I also wish there were some iconic WWII maps and battles. But they are going for some reason with "untold stories" which is not as exciting. So overall this game doesn't really have that WWII feel at the moment. Hopefully once all the maps and content are out it will. When you play as the British you don't feel like the British in WWII. You feel like some random group of rebels or "Resistance" fighters... The only time I actually feel like it's wwII is when I'm on the German team.
The singleplayer. Don't even bother touching it. It's a waste of your time. I really wish they never even tried to make a singleplayer for this. It's such a lackluster boring mess. They did only have 2 years to make a singleplayer experience and that is definitely not long enough. I would have rather they focused on multiplayer like the original BF1942 game and maybe just make a singleplayer of the multiplayer maps with just bots, so you could practice flying or other techniques.
The bugs in this game are a bit annoying for me as well. Nothing as bad as the release of BF4 but still annoying. I really hate that it's so easy to get caught on the map geometry. This gets me killed more often than not. Especially on that blown out Rotterdam map. Another things that bugs me or rather pulls me out of the experience are the wacky ragdolls. They have no weight to them. They make the players look like they are filled with air. It looks really weird when you kill someone and their ragdoll flops all over then jumps to the help for revive animation. Then when the time runs out for the revive it suddenly jumps and flops around all crazy like. Really pulls me out of the immersion.
I don't like how the planes in the game have weird looking damage models. The wings suddenly clip off at the tips. It just looks unrealistic.
The medic class is very underwhelming. They need some weapons that can reach out a bit further. It would have been cool to do it like BF4 and have the DMR style weapons universal across the classes.

Now the glaring obvious problems this game had even before launch. I don't know how it was possible to completely screw up a WWII Battlefield game. I'm a WWII fanatic and I've waited since the first release of BF for a full complete WWII battlefield game to come out again. But they some how manage to completely screw the marketing for this game up. You will notice by the average user score on here. The marketing team should be fired. This team did real damage to this game. Why in the world would you try to get today's politics and social issues into a WWII historic game? Why? Why try to force and paint a different lens on history? When you try to bring todays politics into a historic game that will obviously piss off a lot of the fan base. The marketing team for BF1 did an amazing job and that game is not as fun as this game.

I really really want this game to succeed and I hope with all the content they release over the next year that it will become a BF gem just like how BF4 had a rough start bug wise I hope this game will change the minds of people that hated it because of the marketing over time.

This game sucks. It took all of the good mechanics of a game like Battlefield 4 and stripped them down to make this a casual game. Team playThis game sucks. It took all of the good mechanics of a game like Battlefield 4 and stripped them down to make this a casual game. Team play is completely destroyed and progression has been removed even more so than it was in Battlefield 1 which was already too casual and lacking in progression. The game right now if completely unfinished and needs more content. After not even an hour I was bored of Battlefield 5 and that's coming from someone with 1,500 hours in BF4 and 500 hours in BF1. On top of that EA called it's customers "uneducated" and has tried to ruin WWII with feminism and crazy stuff that never happened in WWII. This game's only strong point is the tighter gunplay than BF1, though that's a really low bar to set. It has decent gunplay but all the vehicles have been sort of removed from the game. You never really see more than one tank or plane ever. This game has increasingly become call of duty with more players. It's a s***show of pew-pew-ing. This game is a crappy excuse for a shell of a Battlefield game and you should just get BF4 or some other game instead. Expand
