"Mighty No. 9 is an extremely niche product. The efforts of the developers do not reflect the millionaire crowdfunding campaign that gave birth to the game, but the final result is still more than decent and can be really fun for those who love this videogame genre." ... Read full review

"Even with dull visuals and a little too much reliance on the past, in a world where Capcom has seemingly forgotten that the Blue Bomber exists, Mighty No. 9’s enthralling boss battles make it an okay substitute to fill that void for the time being." ... Read full review

"It was certainly compelling enough for me to want to finish the game. There are also plenty of challenges to help hone platforming skills which ultimately do help in finishing the regular levels. As a game that is clearly supposed to appease Mega Man fans who will likely never get a new game in the series ever again, it falls spectacularly short of their expectations, particularly those that assisted in the crowdfunding campaign." ... But I popped it into my handy dandy ps4 and was quickly proven wrong. Simply put, this game is better than any mega man game that preceded it. More specifically, this game puts mega man 2 to absolute shame. Its like comparing Ocarina of Time to No Man's Sky. The graphics for this game put Crysis 3 to shame. When compared side by side you can see the absolute clear winner. The story for this game is the most heart-renching, emotional-driven experiences I've ever encountered. I don't see it ever getting beaten. The mechanics for this game is very very innovative and succeeding video games would be foolish to not copy it. The character design is a thing of beauty, the person who designed them should honestly win an Oscar. I would absolutely encourage all those to attempt to play something we will probably never see again from a developer. 10/10 cried 9 times. Expand

Yes, the development has been super shady and it obviously hasn't lived up the insurmountable hype that it generated three or so years ago (shocker), but if you look at it as a game, it's totally fine. Its about on par with a Mega Man 8 experience, complete with the 2.5D and Cringey AF voice acting. Its not an amazing game by any means, as it definitely has its issues, but overall its harmless, especially for $20. Expand
