Like the island it’s set on, every part of Sephonie works in concert for the good of the whole, making it one of the most profoundly moving games I’ve ever played.
Sephonie is an outstanding 3D platformer that's weakened some by overly verbose, and often heavy-handed story-telling.
Sephonie has a lot of interesting things to say but unfortunately isn't too great at the gameplay side. Musings on change, identity and place are good. Awkward platforming and oddly easy puzzles, less so.
The line between a leisurely atmosphere and an aimless one is quite thin, and Sephonie often drifts across it.
Sephonie is an enjoyable experience gameplay-wise, but every other element weighs down an otherwise great puzzle platforming experience.
