The Last Faith takes the Metroidvania genre and elevates it to new heights. Its high level of challenge is met with exceptional game design that allows all players to master gameplay systems before confronting formidable enemies. The narrative gradually builds alongside the gothic atmosphere, providing an immersive experience for players. I’m unsure what will come of the Metroidvania genre, but The Last Faith has unquestionably set a new standard.
The Last Faith is a grueling metroidvania, leaning into pinnacle souls-like gameplay elements that reward exploration, precision, and patience. Its combat may be simple and fun, but the challenge of mastering its traversal may be too much to handle. Its gorgeous visuals might not be distinct enough to separate itself from the pack of its predecessors, but it’s a great start for those wanting to test the waters of the souls genre.

I'm actually a little shocked why the game was received so poorly. In literally every aspect the game is better than the hype Blasphemous . Bosses, number of unique enemies, combat system, leveling, level design, challenge, platforming. Everything is better. And there are even things that the FS themselves can learn. For example, the ability to use weapons and magic if the characteristics are not suitable, the damage will just be a little less and not almost zero like in FS games lol.

The Last Faith appears, at first glance, the son of Blasphemous and Bloodborne. What it really wants to be is a nostalgic trip to the glorious days of Castlevania and Koji Igarashi.
The Last Faith is a soulslike metroidvania with many strengths and weaknesses. An experience that oscillates between satisfying and frustrating due to a somewhat lazy level design and, above all, an incorrect balance of the forces in play. Sometimes there are too many enemies in a small space, Bosses who are too resistant, or poorly distributed checkpoints. However, the not too high price, the inspired artistic direction, the many beautiful pixel art models are good incentives to give the game a chance, especially if you are passionate about the genre.
The Last Faith is a strong title with some clear stumbles, but quality still wins out more often than not, and I’m eager to see Kumi Souls Games’ next effort as a result.
This is a great first attempt by Kumi Souls Games, and as long as they continue working on the unpolished parts of the game, and keep the aesthetic approach and good VA, they'll do just fine.
The Last Faith fails to make waves in a market already far too saturated to make space for something that doesn't bring innovation. Beautiful design, both in sound and scene, is let down by predictable gameplay.
Backed this game during their campaign, and it was worth every penny despite the long wait and delays. From the varied weapons, magic, items, bosses, and enemies, this Bloodborne inspired Metroidvania definitely landed in my top games of 2023!

I was looking forward to playthis game, i love Blasphemous and this game was inspired by that. But this game dissapoint me. It was the first time in years I drop a game because i dont like it. Good art. But the character feels like a tank. 0 mobility. I play a lot of difficult games in my life, but the difficulty in this game is the lack of mobility. you dont have dash, the roll is slow. everything is slow. it feels your characters moves in slow motion compared to the enemies. It make me really sad.
