Apr 6, 2018In "2012-2017" Nicolas Jaar presented a fairly optimistic cocktail of 11 house songs created with sampled funk and soul music. 1 hour and 7 minutes, which will certainly make you dance, well, or at the very least go along the street cheerfully). A warm album, warm and bright, like a tube light or the long-awaited sun in our land.
Have fun swinging your body in the rhythms of voluptuous idleness.) -
Jun 13, 2018Album of the year so far. A fantastic compilation of enjoyable house tracks with heavy and creative sampling.

May 12, 2018What starts out as your typical drum-and-bass house music slowly transcends into an eccentric dance album with '2012-2017'. Against All Logic (one of Nicolas Jaar's many monikers) has made an impressive stamp on the current state of electronic music.

Sep 4, 2018No previous knowledge of his catalog is necessary to get happily lost in the blissful layers of 2012/2017.

Mar 30, 20182012 - 2017 is one hour and seven minutes of sample-heavy dance tracks--eleven in total. Those who are deeply inquisitive about music will have a field day on WhoSampled finding vocal stems from David Axelrod, The Delfonics and Kanye West. Those who aren’t interested in that will still find an album which has an instant impact as Jaar substitutes avant-garde dystopian techno with the most off kilter time signatures for something much more predictable.

Mar 30, 2018There’s plenty to unpack here, as there is with all of Jaar’s work, but if you wanted to simplify things you could call 2012 - 2017 his house album, in that Jaar imposes upon himself the conventions and requirements of traditional house music.
