Their debut album marks a major hike in ambition. [Sep 2011, p.116]

It would be a shame if S.C.U.M cannot escape from the oppressive prison that preconceptions have built, because Again Into Eyes is worthy than a better fate than that. Honestly. It's well worth a try.

S.C.U.M's debut LP is a magnificent opening salvo, as the London act recalls the fuck-all attitude and melodies of David Bowie and Brian Eno circa their '70s glam phase, while nodding to the sonic adventurousness of the reverb heavy U.K. shoegaze scene of the early '90s.

For an album that runs a high risk coming off as a grand tour of goth's past, S.C.U.M. has succeeded miraculously well in trumping the naysayers.

On Again into Eyes, they take listeners down a fairly well-traveled musical road, but it's still an enjoyable journey.

It's an accomplished sound, one that may not immediately dispense with the comparisons that have dogged the band, but one that does suggest a group more than capable of outgrowing the associations.

For a while, it seemed like they'd never leave the hipster ghetto, but this is a convincing exit. [Oct 2011, p.90]
