The ten songs here are a euphoric whirl of church choirs, lushly layered cymbals, poppy clap tracks, and heady psych rock, evoking peers like Tough Alliance and Tanlines.

If you give the album the chance it deserves you will be rewarded by one of the strongest LPs you are likely to hear this year.

You may categorize An Album By Korallreven as background music. That's by no means a bad thing-if anything, such a distinction solidifies this album as an intense experience: a wintry escape to the wilderness with a slight detour to the dance floor along the way.

Their stuttering, airy synths would serve as an appropriate soundtrack to a nightclub in Heaven.

An Album assembles all the loose threads from previous bursts of inspiration to sequence a scenic panorama to get lost into.

Like many of the instrumentals on this record, a New Age gauze covers most of these productions. It may not be every listener's particular cup of tea, but An Album is a dazzling song suite for an autumnal release.

The album is at best ignorable and at worst irritatingly tranquilizing. [#39, p. 71]

I have just been listening to this album, and it's truly breathtaking. It's like being on an island somewhere in space, with colors so lushI have just been listening to this album, and it's truly breathtaking. It's like being on an island somewhere in space, with colors so lush but so electronically icy and ambient. Songs like "Sa Sa Samoa" and "Pago Pago" evoke a type of spiritual music that I have never felt before. It's beautiful and inspiring, all music goers should listen to this album and enjoy the exotic vacation brought forth by Korallreven's talented musicians. Expand
