madslDec 4, 2006sure, there are some finely crafted, beautifully soothing songs on this latest effort from Jurado, I just think it gets a bit twee and mundane in the long run! Certainly preferable to the mess that was On my way to Absence, but nowhere near as good as his masterwork, Where Shall you take Me.

JakeTOct 25, 2006This album may be Damien's best. Some of it feels like it's just following classic damien formula, but there is a twist. Songs like the title track and What Were the Chances offer something very new and very good. This album kicks ass!

BenGOct 23, 2006After Jurado's last album, I wasn't expecting much from this one, but I think it's his best yet.

StevenGOct 19, 2006I love this album. It is, admittedly, a bit of a downer, but the songs are so achingly beautiful and the lyrics are so vivid and tell great stories. Damien Jurado has put out about eight albums now, and they're all fantastic. This one is no exception.

Flavorless.
-
The feel is late night, on the edge of quiet, and full of pathos.
-
Where Jurado differs from someone like Jason Molina is in the vibrancy of the actual music.
