    A fantastic and solid record. Gahan sounds powerful and his voice stripped down from all Depeche Mode effects stands out as one of the instruments. Emotional record..

    Angels & Ghosts won’t draw you in immediately and it does contain several lumbering, repetitive tracks that neither move nor entertain. But after a few listens, you may begin to see the light.

    Angels & Ghosts is in many ways accomplished and often very pretty. But it’s pretty in the way of a postcard, and Gahan’s been around long enough and been through enough to warrant something deeper.

    Plodding, overwrought gospel epics like Shine and Tempted are the order of the day, pale passionless shadows of the Mode’s mighty, desperate Condemnation.... Things improve on the starker latter half.
