[Anxiety] retains all the best things about her debut while expanding on both her sound and style.

It's a great pop record with plenty of guts and a sense of reality that is so often missing from records that sound this fun.

In its more luminous moments, it also contains enough to suggest that there is still a great album lurking somewhere underneath the Ladyhawke moniker.

  1. The album, while nowhere near the commercial sound of her first album is still fantastic. To be fully honest, it is a bit of a let down considering this is what was produced after a 4 year wait. Some parts of the album kind of run together and sound the same but other than those two flaws, the album is fantastic. The way she crafts her music makes you want to get up and dance, even on the ballad, and the best track on the album, "Cellophane". I think that people who fell in love with her first album will need some convincing to love this one but it isn't a far reach. Ladyhawke is still in there, it's just a more mature and less commercial sound. Expand
