Apr 1, 2018Very creative album. The first part of Automata album series will be a good start for new fans. It has everything you want from the band. Blot is one of the best progressive metal song in a decade.

Mar 13, 2018More of the same chaos and stellar musicianship that defines BTBAM. The album builds across the first five songs to a monster finale, 'Blot', which teases what is to come with Automata Part 2.

Kerrang!Mar 9, 2018Admittedly, they do occasionally disappear up their own collective backside, with too much noodling trying your patience, but their ambition and scope show no signs of diminishing. [10 Mar 2018, p.55]

Mar 9, 2018The first half of Automata (part two arrives in June) is almost too straightforward, offering plenty of what we’ve heard before from these Raleigh space cadets: the folkish plucking and mad noodling, the burps of intergalactic synth, the way a song like “House Organ” closes the safe distance separating Pink Floyd from Cannibal Corpse.

Mar 9, 2018Automata I is excellent on its own; its writing, production, and performances are all top flight. Additionally, it whets the appetite of anticipation for part two.
