Jun 19, 2015Some of the subject matter may be dark, often disturbing, but the warm washes of traditional folk and country allied with Peters beautiful tones make for a triumphant return. “Blackbirds” is a powerful piece of incisive poetry set to the simplest melodies that makes one wonder why the heck isn’t she a national treasure in her homeland?

Feb 21, 2015Blackbirds is not an album of fresh sound and modern ingenuity. It is instead an album that recreates past sounds exceptionally. The songwriting, instrumentation, and especially the production culminate in a listen that, while it doesn't beckon intense critical scrutiny, is a wonderfully enjoyable experience.
