It’s a potentially fulsome harvest E.M.M.A. has planted.

Her peculiar melodies weave their way around rugged pirate radio house/grime grooves in a manner that flirts with silliness but manages to stay intriguing and enticing instead. [Sep 2013, p.104]

Blue Gardens is really well put-together with love and affection sown directly into its seams. Another future classic from the Keysound camp.
  4. Aug 12, 2013
Despite its overall lighthearted, ebullient mood, E.m.m.a's music is almost unsettlingly weird at times, and laugh-out-loud bizarre at others.
  5. Aug 12, 2013
Blue Gardens is another milestone in a banner year for one of the UK's most consistently exciting labels.
  6. Aug 12, 2013
Blue Gardens something a bit more sonically vivid is touched upon in ‘At Sea’, when acoustic percussion samples and a less stable synth harmonium shiver and waver in a manner that subtly detaches the track from everything that preceded it.

As a complete package, Blue Gardens comes across as impressively well thought-out and refreshingly imaginative--it's a bright flash of creativity in an already eccentric genre.
