Pig Destroyer is a grindcore band from Virginia. There last release was in 2007 with Phantom Limb. While many people gave it favorable reviews to "Phantom Limb", i simply didn't enjoy it as much. Now, there has been a lot of hype surrounding "Book Burner". I'm going to say this right now that this has to be Pig Destroyer's best album to date and it was well worth the wait. This is a masterpiece and which I think every metalhead should listen to. "Book Burner" has to make my best metal albums of 2012. Not the best album of 2012, Woods V by Woods of Ypres takes my number 1 spot (for now...). This is a highly enjoyable release. I'm not very into grindcore and because of this release, i want to check out more grindcore releases by bands such as Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation (who released one hell of an album this year). The crunching riffs by Scott Hull are brilliantly composed and the vocals are well, awesome. "The Diplomat" has one of the best riffs in metal history and such a great video they released for it. Overall 'Book Burner" by Pig Destroyer is one hell of an album and has to be one of the best of this year. Pig Destroyer has now reached legendary status in the metal genre with this great release. "Book Burner" receives a 9/10 for me. Expand

If you're looking for depth and escapism, there are plenty of albums out there for you to dive into and explore, but if volume and intensity are what you seek, Pig Destroyer have just the punch in the face you've been looking for.

Book Burner is defiantly hideous and if you love it, you love it for its ugliness or not at all.

It's definitely not pop-more like battery acid-but in such talented hands, chaos becomes catchy.
