Bossalinis & Fooliyones, while not exactly what you'd call a mainstream rap album, is consistently accessible, and in thrall to a tangle of overground production styles.

Bossalinis & Fooliyones is a taut, humble and profoundly aware medley of late afternoon joy--the best time to listen to it.

If the album never quite reaches the tune-packed heights of 808s, the overall listen is utterly melting.

Like a lot of young artists who've been flash-fried by the Internet, these guys also aren't so much great as they are getting better, using public interest to spur themselves on. Bossalinis is cleaner and more varied than their mixtapes, but this album is also long.

Many of the tracks on Bossalinis & Fooliyones focus on typical hip-hop fodder, like struggles with women, weed, money, and success, but--when successful--avoid feeling contrived due to their heavy sense of apathy.

The beats are straighter and more polished, and a degree of shine has replaced bedroom-engineered grit. [Dec 2012, p.75]
