    Surfaces aside, the songs on Breaks In The Armor are impassioned and crafty--right in line with what Bachmann has been up to for decades now.

    While Breaks takes a few tracks to pick up traction, Bachmann's true grit comes through.

    It feels like a declaration of purpose instead, made all the stronger for having passed through the crucible of Bachmann's doubts, through the armor breaks, and straight into-and from-the heart.
