Clothesdrop seamlessly blends Shaggy's sharpest pop sensibilities with his (much slept-on) roughneck pedigree. [Nov 2005, p.147]
  2. Musically and lyrically, "Clothes Drop" is more pop-oriented, melodic and restrained, and is all the brighter for it. [24 Sep 2005]
  3. 20
Shaggy has one of the most grating voices in pop. [Oct 2005, p.143]

All music is a carefully marketed product. People can't make music if nobody will buy it, after all.

Ah, wisdom - this CD, like any other, is a marketed product. DON'T let that deter you from buying this record when there's already the turgid monotony of Shaggy's voice, the godawfully repetitive production and the tired, boring subject matter to do that for you. The fact that the guest spots are always the (underwhelming) highlights of the songs doesn't do much for it either. Collapse
