    It's the perfect choice for a fan of Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Andrew Kenny's (The American Analog Set) 2004 acoustic recordings for Post-Parlo's Home series or anyone looking for a soundtrack for a long drive home after a relaxing summer day.

    The album bears Rogue's signature yet versatile voice and simplistic guitar-driven arrangements that recall his eponymous band's first album with the occasional grand gestures of Rogue Wave's later work.

    Come Back to Us isn't Rogue's greatest work-both Heaven's Gate and Descended Like Vultures feel sturdier in terms of the long haul. But it's a huge step forward from the lukewarm attempt at populist coolness that is Permalight.
