Excellent production by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal) at his Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, FL takes Conceived in Sewage to a higher level of eviscerating brutality.

Sure some songs (“Heaving Acid”/“Parasitic Eruption”) are indistinguishable, but for the most part this record sweats malice in a straightforward, pulverizing kind of way.

While spirited in their performance, this brutal quartet lack the dynamism and versatility of label-mates Dying Fetus.

Guttural, brutal, and very unpleasant. [Mar 2013, p.101]

Well, I'll start about the sound/production. It is better than on the previous releases and I'd even say that the album sounds overproduced.Well, I'll start about the sound/production. It is better than on the previous releases and I'd even say that the album sounds overproduced. Most of the fans wanted to hear a more harsh sound just like it was before. About the music: it's a pity, but the band started to sound like very generic. A lot of trivial death metal riffs and the main letdown there are almost none of the slamming grooves, which were always the best thing in their music (for me). So I'm pretty disappointed with this album. Collapse
