Not a fan of the genre at all, to be honest. But I give this a 5 purely because I respect what this band is doing. I mean this in the most non ignorant way when I say, this album is telling a story, a concept I've heard, but I can't understand the story because I can't understand what the **** the guys saying. However, I do love the instrumentation, it's unique and is hard to find in this genre. I think what this band is doing is fresh, unique and original and I applaud them for that. I do not enjoy this kind of music in the slightest, but I respect this band for what they are trying to do. I gave this album a shot, I liked it to an extent. I just hope this band continues to make music with great inspiration and passion as they are doing so now. Expand

really liked the instrumentals, but that's about it tbh. the vocals makes it really hard to understand, even though there is clearly a story being told which is a damn shame. half way trough the album it becomes really hard to care.

Sounds like the Arcade Fire being fronted by the Ultimate Warrior. I enjoyed the music but it doesn't match up with such angst ridden vocals. I was never a hardcore punk fan but this doesn't exactly sound like a true punk rock record being that the music is rather tame.

The eighteen tracks and eighty minutes presented here don't hold a candle to 2008′s The Chemistry of Common Life but I truly admire the tenacity of this outfit to push on toward such a lofty venture.

It's a true testament to the band that its windswept glory-rock stays exhilarating for nearly 80 minutes.

Guitars buzz and chime, melodies uproot from the dirt and stand tall; the sum total being tan indefinable yet fascinating modern day rock opera that is as rewarding as it is unique. [4 Jun 2011, p.52]
