    Above all, uneven though the collection of songs may be, the spirit of this life-force of a band will always uplift and restore--in an unsettling world (to put it mildly), we need that.

    Asking his band to change course in a dramatic fashion after nearly three decades together might be too much. But allowing themselves to get away from the tried and true could give the Charlatans a nice creative jolt to keep them going for another 30 years.

    A fun and colourful indie album full of pop sensibilities, Different Days is a joy from start to finish and is further indication that Tim Burgess and co. show no sign of stopping.
