    This is my favorite Dead Weather album. I like all the songs. I also love it when the tempo is changed, as in "Three Dollar Hat,"and "Impossible Winner" - a great end of the album song btw - as opposed to heavy rock blues guitars blasting throughout the whole album. I love how "...Hat" starts out with that groovy instrumentation. I still have some problem distinguishing Alison Mosshart'sThis is my favorite Dead Weather album. I like all the songs. There's more variety of musical genres going throughout Dodge and Burn: blues, rock, alternative, funk etc. and I think that's why I like it more than the other 2 albums. The Dead Weather is a solid incarnation of Jack White's and The Kills Alison Mosshart. They sound like a real band and not just a side projekt so to speak.… Expand

    I'm loving how many genre's The Dead Weather are able to incorporate into this album. For the first time, I don't see the band as a side project for the members here, rather an epic supergroup.

    Least Favourite Songs: Lose the Right, Cop and Go
    I hate Jack White. Not his music, although I do think it's overrated at times. I just hate him. Who doesn't? He's a **** who'll use any **** excuse to get your money. However, he is very capable of making great music so let's just push my feelings aside for a second. This was a reasonably enjoyable record. Very straightforward and very obviously inspired by blues and garage rock but still quite enjoyable. Most of the songs are driven by these really catchy guitar riffs but there's actually a surprising amount of piano used as well (on 'Cop and Go' it's quite obvious but it's really annoying if you listen into it because it's the same note played for 4 minutes.) Songs on here have the tendency to be quite anti-climatic, particularly on 'Too Bad' and 'Cop and Go', and that's fine but it makes a small chunk of the album instantly forgettable for me. I was kind of scared going into this record that it would all have the lo-fi production of 'I Feel Love (Every Million Miles) but luckily it didn't. I still love that song but if it had been mixed better it could've have sounded massive because the way it is really holds it back from being amazing. The guitars are so much louder than the vocals and the drums sound really clean like they were just pulled from a computer but again that wasn't how the album sounded so it's fine. I can deal with it for one song. There are two tracks on her that veer away from The Dead Weather's usual sound to great effect. The first of these is 'Three Dollar Hat' which has a super dark guitar intro very similar to the start of Rage Against The Machine's 'Settle For Nothing' (not really related but it reminds me of it a lot.) Then Jack White comes in with some really theatrical vocals and gives the song a huge boost. Of course the song still has the usual rock 'n' roll Dead Weather sound in the middle but it's an interesting break in the album. The second track that veers away from their sound is the final song 'Impossible Winner' which is a Lady Gaga sounding piano ballad (say wuuuuuut) which works surprisingly well, although if you think about some of Jack White's music with The White Stripes you can see he's done that before successfully. I wasn't keen on it at first but after more listens I've realised just how beautiful her voice is on that song. Overall, this is a good album with some eh tracks and some good tracks if you're a fan of anything the band members have done in the past you'll almost definitely like it.

    It's a bit more refined than their earlier work, but there's only a few songs that are particularly memorable. Still stylistically consistent though, which is a blessing considering the absence of other haunting and macabre blues rock.

    Lots of fun. The 70s are alive. For fans of Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Humble Pie .... and so many more rockers. Deserves to be heard by more ears. Vocals are brilliant and the sound is huge.

    In my opinion and probably many others, this is the best album that the Dead Weather have put together. I love the dark garage rock feel over the whole album. The band collectively does a fantastic job at playing with each other even with Jack White's spontaneous drum fills. White's drumming on the album is incredible. His drumming is not the typical simple drum beat that most drummers do.In my opinion and probably many others, this is the best album that the Dead Weather have put together. Giving off a strong badass sound. Even the bass plays a huge role in the album. There is a lot of distortion on the bass making it sound like another guitar.

    Despite some dubious song titles, that horrible “supergroup” tag and annoying residual longing from White purists, Dodge And Burn is a sweet pill to swallow.

    White is not hurting for fans in any of his musical guises, but he might have many more if he were to lighten things up a bit.
