  1. Don’t Be a Stranger is a charming collection by a confident and competent group of musicians, but its drawback is its same-ness.
  2. So while Don’t Be a Stranger may run on a bit too long, that’s hardly something to complain about. In fact, that is exactly the point of the record, of the beautiful sounds the Moondoggies are making.

  4. As far as 2008 sleepers go, this album’s near the top of the pile. Don’t Be A Stranger is good advice, indeed.
  5. Not enough of Farmer or Poor Richard. Not enough sweat and gunpowder. They are intent on a tent shakeout, but no one’s pitching it.
  6. Enjoying the Moondoggies, though, hinges on being able to accept a couple of Seattleites in their early 20s digging so earnestly into the '70s.
