  1. If you like smart, complicated rock and roll that nevertheless puts on a show, they are as good as it gets.
  2. 70
Cobra Verde embrace classic-rock posturing with all of its messy emotional overreach, wanky-yet-tasteful guitar solos and bombastic songcraft.
  3. As half of the fun of an album is trying to figure out what the artist is trying to do creatively, having the artist essentially tell you what they're going to do and then watching them do it, is somewhat less interesting.
  4. Unfortunately, about halfway through the album, the sound wears itself out, as the samey melodies edge towards the too-familiar.
  5. Magnet
    70
As subtle as, and harder than, a flying mallet. [#58, p.84]
  6. Under The Radar

The dirty air guitar and over the top vocals leave me cold. [#5, p.111]
  7. Alternative Press

Easy Listening has enough great riffs for Big Star and Cheap Trick to share, with leftovers to spare. [Jun 2003, p.103]
  8. Other records from 2003 have been more innovative and certainly heavier, but Easy Listening is so golden, so upbeat and so perfectly right out of the Midwest's sleeper hotbed of rock that it simply sounds bigger than life.
