Jul 28, 2017You may not like it.
You may think it's a departure from everything they've done.
The funk is real, the disco influence is real, the rock is real.
Arcade Fire has set out to make THE dance rock album, and they've soared. -

Jul 28, 2017good record but not as good as expected from AF. This one is clearly far behind the others albums from the band. Everything now, Creatures confort, infinite content, put your money on me and we don't deserve love are really goods but it's not enough to make a great record. I think AF loose their selves by doing this album in different places with different people, they lost the magic of AF.

Jul 29, 2017Ahhh, I used to love this group. Then they decided that alternative rock wasn't interesting to them any more and that they needed to add a disco beat. I'm sure i'll get more out of the album in terms of lyrics if i listen to it a bunch more times. But i can't seem to care enough to try.

Aug 18, 2017The first album of Arcade Fire that really is empty, irrelevant and some lyrics worthy of Rebecca Black, far left the supergroup that showed us unique melodies.
-
Jul 29, 2017Hated it the first few listens. Was so sad one of my favorite bands of the past 13 years made this. I kept listening...I genuinely love it and can't explain it. Even chemistry, which was embarrassing on first few listens doesn't bother me now.
Maybe it'll be a grower for others. I understand the flaws in a lot of the songs, but I really love this front to back. I'm as baffled as you. -

Jul 31, 2017Arcade Fire is brilliant. To all the haters and naysayers; Artists evolve and change, it's called art! Everything Now is fresh and new while giving a nod to the past.
-
Jul 29, 2017I don't get all this negative feedback, yes they changed their sound, but their unique quality isn't questioned here at all. I've always said that they're music masters and THEY PROVED IT WITH THIS RECORD ONCE MORE. Such a wonderfully crafted album.

Jul 30, 2017Arcade Fire have effectively gone from one of the best and most innovative indie rock bands to an incredibly bland funk and disco band. The lyrics don't help at all.

Jul 28, 2017The album fails to deliver interesting new sound with its spicy take, some influences from less mainstream genres like Ska couldnt make this album sound special. Creature Comfort is a balls to the walls statement about modern culture with amazing sound, the album shouldve kept that level of fun, instead we got just a very dull synth-pop experience.

Aug 1, 2017It's just a different direction from their usual sound. They experimented a bit with Reflektor and it was brilliant but with this they explored the genre of dance music a bit more with dark themes in the lyrics' subject matter. This may be the weakest album in Arcade Fire discography but definitely a strong record on its own.
-
Jul 29, 2017who would be brave enough to make a disco/pop/rock/electronic album these days? and an album that is a real story start to finish? Arcade Fire comes to the top of the list. Again they took an idea, and pushed it to something really audacious. You may not like it because its very different than what they did before. Thats exactly the point
-
Jul 28, 2017The most recent records are getting a lot of influence from 80's groove and disco ballads, and that happens on Everything Now too. It's not great or genious, but it is nice to hear... You may say they are losing their identity, but I will rate it for how it sounds: It is a weel produced record with a lot of good songs!
-
Aug 2, 2017Wonder what the reviews would look like if all of the critics waited two weeks to review the album. It's been less than a week at this point, and for me at least, this thing is a completely different animal than it was after my first few listens.
-
Jul 30, 2017What the hell happened to this record? This is the extreme opposite of what an Arcade Fire should sound like and mean as a whole. Insubstantial lyrics, lame production, terrible vocal delivery, an old-fashioned theme and a supreme lack of passion make Everything Now not only the band's worst album to date, but also the biggest disappointment of the year so far.

Aug 1, 2017Just when you thought Arcade Fire were incapable of a bad release,,,They Have! When the best 3 songs on an album are reprises on the title track you know your in trouble,,,,,,,you keep waiting for those soaring anthemic masterpieces to come but they never do,,,,instead the album dies a steady and painful death until the end of its 47 minutes.

Jul 30, 2017Espere muy ansioso por este disco y no me defraudo, una de las cosas q mas me gustan de esta banda es que son experimentales con su musica en cada disco muestran algo diferente.

Aug 2, 2017It's not the worst album ever and I'm sure if it wasn't Arcade Fire i would have enjoyed it more, but since they are a seasoned band it is fair to hold them up to that standard. It was a dull album which lacked soul and interest.
-
Aug 4, 2017Despite the excessive bashing of this album going around, I really think it's something special. The lyrical themes match the fidgety, electric feel of the music. Consumerism, the effects of consumerism, and self-decay permeate every second of the album. Album highlights: Everything Now, Creature Comfort, Put Your Money On Me, We Don't Deserve Love.
-
Jul 28, 2017Is this Arcade Fire's best album ever? No. But if any other band released Everything Now it would be an achievement. Electric Blue, Creature Comfort, and We Don't Deserve Love are right up there with the band's best work. Unfortunately is bogged down in the middle with a few mediocre tracks. That being said, we shouldn't be punishing the band by comparing this to previous masterpieces.

Jul 28, 2017''Everything Now'' It's just an average album. Some songs like ''Everything Now'' and ''Creature Comfort'' are too much repetitive. The tracklist is too short and lacks leading tracks or very strong ones.
I used to be an Arcade Fire fan and i'm so disappointed. -
Jul 28, 2017I think that making a review 150 characters long inhibits the ability of this website to collect accurate data. That being said, this album is good. It's just an odd first listen.

Aug 15, 2017While having respectable elements and harmonic cohesion due to the band’s superb musicianship, the lack of nuance, intent, and strength was very disappointing given the presentation and inability to sustain anything of real quality. My Score: 126/180 (Good) = 7/10

Jul 30, 2017This album may not be their best, but they still know how to deliver. Songs such as Everything Now, Creature Comfort, and Blue Electric are very beautiful, with Creature Comfort even bringing me to tears. The thing that bothers me most are how some of the songs feel repetitive with its lyrics; such as Peter Pan, Chemistry, and Infinite Content.
-
Aug 8, 2017A shift in their style that, in fact, isn't that bad. A really good ending ("Put Your Money on Me", "We Don't Deserve Love") that contrasts with some ugly fillers like "Chemistry" and "Infinite_Content".
Nevertheless, the geniality can be tasted; it's Arcade Fire, like it or not. Let's see where they're heading to. -

Dec 25, 2021Boring and repetitive sounding is how I would sum this up. There are a couple of good songs on here but for the most part, It is quite a forgettable album that features way too much filler - An intro, an outro, and the same song (Infinite Content) with different music but the same lyrics.

Aug 18, 2021Where did the glue that held Reflektor together go?
I remember I jammed out to Everything Now when I first had access to Spotify and now it doesn't sound like what it once was. If Arcade Fire were to take out the middle of the album then the chances of higher scores would be more likely. -

Aug 17, 2017While not entirely lacking new ideas (the louche, second version of Infinite Content would make Wilco proud), Everything Now feels like a brainstorming idea with one too many executives in the boardroom.
-
MagnetAug 15, 2017Arcade Fire's tightest and tersest album since 2004's Funeral is by far its least ambitious, and the band is cool to riff on this. [No. 145, p.53]

Aug 4, 2017The only thing Arcade Fire’s Everything Now is about is Arcade Fire, which is its most pernicious and pathetic quality. Arcade Fire are no longer Orpheus and Eurydice, lovers doomed to tragedy; now they are Narcissus, the Greek hunter who lost the will to live after staring at his own reflection in a pond for too long. They ask their listeners to participate in this cynicism as they grasp so falsely at explanations for why “we” are like this.
