  • Summary: Kurt Heasley's eighth Lilys album finds him working with hip-hop producer Michael Musmanno.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 13 out of 15
  2. Negative: 0 out of 15
  1. Everything Wrong Is Imaginary is loosely and playfully conceived, but the stylistic goofing can't hide the exposed, bloody vein that runs throughout.
  2. Song by song, all of it melts into your head, relentless, narcotic and detached, yet ultimately positive.
  3. Filter

An electric moment for Lilys. [#19, p.96]
  4. Everything Wrong Is Imaginary never quite feels like the career-culminating record it should be.
  5. Another quirky and eclectic Lilys set.
  6. Alternative Press

    A swirling, guitar-driven headtrip. [Apr 2006, p.220]
  7. Magnet
    40
    We're left with a meandering, psychedelic buzz--not a dizzying, mind-expanding head-trip. [#71, p.102]

Pretty good! I'd give it an 8 but since Kurt is such a stud and an excellent performer I'll give him an extra point.

one of the best albums i've ever heard. turns My Bloody Valentine into a mutated George Clinton and back again on a dime.

The fussy production ruins any good songs here.
