se você espera que o debut solo da beth ditto soe como algo com o que ela fazia no gossip você vai se impressionar. fake sugar é uma aventura incrivel e nem um pouco familiar com a beth antiga

It's fun, it's easy, it's delicious. I enjoyed very much listening to this album and I'll definitely come back to it very soon (which is a lot to say about a record these days...). I can also feel a lot of Gossip here, despite what the other critics are saying.
My Top 3 tracks are: Fire, We Could Run and Ooh La La.

Fake Sugar is my album of the summer, boasting clean production mixed with Beth's heartfelt vocals. The album ranges from love lost to knowing yourself to fun jams. Download: Savoir Faire, Ooh La La, Love in Real Life.

El álbum cobra vida tardíamente, y alcanza un punto de gloria potente pero efímero. No obstante, el talento de Beth en ese punto se lleva una ovación bien merecida.

Even though some songs may fall short of brilliance, Ditto carries this album along with her timeless vocals while also filling these songs with all the energy and might needed to make "Fake Sugar" anything but fake. There may not be surprises around every corner, but when those unique moments enter your ears, it can only be described as a sugar rush to the brain.

Songs delightfully created to transport us to a time where layers of sound overlapped, causing feelings of various orders. Beth, you're wonderful. I loved the album

The first debut album of Beth Ditto is no doubt a success. The album is full of unique and powerful attitudes and ideas. Apart from the music that is clearly a continue to the previous Gossip band, this album also gives us some surprises.

Ooh La La sharpens that edge with a straight-up shot of soul rock revivalism followed by a chaser of electro-groove. Ditto is at her peak at these moments, where she finds a balance between creativity and sneering attitude, and it would have been great to see more of that, and less of the studio-slick professionalism of the album’s sound.

At the heart of this record overriding percussive elements claw their way to the forefront and this matched with Ditto’s smooth but commanding voice is a winning formula.

Ditto's solo debut is a continuation of her former band's evolution from garage-y primitivism to a more polished sound where Ditto's vocals approached a smoother grandeur sometimes akin to Laura Branigan or Adele.
