Apr 3, 2012Spoek Mathambo on the "Father Creeper" presents a combination of hip hop with electronics and I must admit that it was done right. The vocals are not always as they should - especially when the artist tries to sing, which is known in the case of the rappers as a common mistake. The most impressive on the album is interesting backing, which greatly stands out against the competition.

Nov 20, 2013This album represents an interesting acoustic dissociation of the works of Spoek Mathambo. Without a doubt, this presentation is a diamond in the rough. The experimental aspects of this piece are cliche, yet still unexpectedly fresh. This appears to be an artist on the rise, and I am sure that looking back on this, the album will be the stepping stone to something great.

Jul 27, 2012The album is certainly worth a spin for any music enthusiast who wants to further expand their already-eclectic listening tastes.

Q MagazineApr 25, 2012Kwaito beats and highlife guitars mesh with hip hop and dubstep, while love songs crash into mordant political satire. [May 2012, p.102]

Apr 10, 2012The music suits because it's also dissociated‑-beaty enough to keep your foot tapping and your subconscious involved, but devoid of the escapist joy that is the miracle of so much Afropop produced from equally horrendous daily struggles.
