Oct 23, 2011Feel It Break is a strong debut album from Austra, standout tracks are Spellwork, The Villain and The Beat and the Pulse. Some tracks are a tad bland but still a good album.

May 22, 2011"Feel It Break" by AUSTRA is definitely one of the stronger albums of 2011 so far, but hardly contains anything groundbreaking. 'Lose It' is a very dance-worthy track with a hook to die for and Katie Stelmanis' voice is refreshing, invigorating and deeply touching. Nov 12, 2013A great album! Stelmanis's ethereal voice combined with the rich synths and solid beats make for truly captivating listen. Not all tracks are consistently good, but absolutely none are bad. "The Beast", "Lose It", "The Beat and the Pulse", "Energy", and "Woodstock" are some tracks that stood out for me.

-
Aug 2, 2011Feel It Break feels a bit front-loaded: its second half sags a bit with more ballad-oriented material, but closes on a strong note with "The Beast."

Q MagazineMay 31, 2011Stelmanis is her own woman and on Lose It and Spellwork there's enough regal clatter to elevate her from being a mere cult concern. [Jun 2011, p.107]
