The feelings that you get while listening to each and every song are amazing. It is like floating through a rainy countryside while a breeze is kissing your face and body. I have no words for the instrumental parts, they are so good and special. Harry really did a great job here, being so open and vulnerable but also giving us a good vibe with some songs. The album is a masterpiece. Harry describes it as being about sex and being sad and it’s true. But from my point of view there’s a whole storyline behind it. Side A is about falling in love, while Side B is about suffering a heartbreak. Side C is about healing and feeling happy again, and finally, Side D is about acceptance. The most cohesive album I have ever seen.

Styles did a really great job with this album. We can feel his feelings throught the songs and lyrics. The choice of songs order was made very well. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a lover of 60s and 70s music, I can tell that this man gives me goosebumps and a nostalgia feeling that remembers me how I grew up listening to Beatles, Queen, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac with my father.
In SHE, Styles shows a psychedelic vibe + this air of dreaming so well represented in my head by Beatles; not forgetting to add a special thanks to Mr. Mitch that rocked his guitar solo.
In falling, he talks about his broken heart because he is in love with someone again but is afraid the person no longer feels the same.
In fine line, we have that closure feeling telling you how it is ok to feel sad, but that everything is gonna be fine while his marvelous band makes you feel that in your bones, absolutely AMAZING!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A beautiful album, which takes its listener on a journey of being in love with someone, losing said love and finding out who you are afterwards.

    1) The first track on the album “Golden” is a fantastic opener - it’s got your attention straight away, singing about being scared of falling in love because you’re scared of potentially getting your heart broken.

    2) Watermelon Sugar follows straight through and although slightly more “modern” in its sound it still has a vintage feel to it. Catchy af!

    3) The music video for Adore you and the whole Eroda concept was super fun! Adore you is a cute little song, sweet lyrics and absolutely a catchy bop!

    4) Lights Up was the first indication of what was to come for the sophomore album from Harry Styles and sings about being in a better place, stepping into the light and never going back (to where he was before). Love this song to pieces!

    5) Cherry was a song that had to grow on me - I wasn’t into the song at ALL when I first heard it, but rehearing it again made me fall in love. This is the first heartbreaking song of more to follow on the album. Very honest lyrics and a nice little touch with Camilles voice at the start and finish. Very VERY sweet, and utterly heartbreaking.

    6) Falling. What can I say - it sticks out from the rest of the songs very obviously (aside from TWPK) and is probably the first song in a long time which lyrically and sonically made my heart ACHE! I think a lot of people can relate to this song, not necessarily only as a breakup song, but for a lot of different things when you’re trying to find out who you are after someone special in yo life has left. That note as well - it’s my favorite song of the album but you deffo need to be in the right headspace when listening!

    7) To be so lonely - as with Cherrie, is a song which had to grow on me. It’s a heartbreaking song, when you’re trying to remain friends with an ex. Very honest and nice with a little self-dragging in terms of “I’m just an arrogant SOB who can’t admit when he’s sorry” - refreshing. 8) SHE! What a TUNE! The first of two songs over 6 minutes and ultimately the big sister of last album’s “Woman” - you can of course interpret songs differently (I’ve seen a lot of interesting interpretations already), but to me this is the song about what could’ve been - you’re not with this person but you were so enamored with them (and still is) so you’re imagining all these scenarios. And that last never-ending guitar solo, Mitch you are chefs kiss!

    9) Sunflower vol.6 is a quirky little song, finally the internal demons are starting to fade and you can look back on what was and what’s ahead. 10) Canyon Moon is probably my least favorite song on the album, but cute none-the-less and still not a skip! 11) The second song on the album which differs slightly from the rest, TWPK (treat people with kindness) is Harry’s slogan and starts with a choir singing about treating people with kindness and overall a cute, very uptempo song which surely is going to go OFF live (cannot wait to hear it in May!)

    12) Finally the title track of the album, Fine Line is a song of few words but the words sung (and repeated many times) are enough to get the message across - it’s a fine line (between what exactly? Love and hate? Genius and madness?) but all I know is that Harry will be alright and so will we. It’s starts soft, sing entirely in falsetto, and ends as the gates to heaven opens (or at least that’s how it feels like)! That’s it! This album was nothing and somehow everything I imagined it would be! I’ve had it on repeat since Friday and it will stay on repeat until someone comes along with a better put-together album (most likely that’ll be Harry outdoing himself one another 2.5 years - looking forward to where he’ll take me next!

12/12, would recommend to everyone and their grandma !

I was really excited for this album, and i have to say that it does not disappoint! Harry delivers his most stunning, haunting at times, vocals to date. Every song carries a message, and the message is delivered in a really powerful and different way in each individual track on the album. Harry takes his listeners on a trip through a tough breakup. I will be listening to this on repeat for months. Easily one of the best albums released this year. Highlights of the album: Golden, Cherry, Sunflower vol. 6, Fine Line. Expand

It's so different from the last one in the best way possible. I really love She and Fine line (to be honest, I can't choose)

Amazing album. His debut was great as well but I feel he’s come a really long way with this one, lyrically and sonically as well.

Hands down my favourite release this year, not one song I would skip. Love the hints at 60s and 70s music but it’s still uniquely Harry. Amazing!!

This album is art in every sense of the word, it is an expression of wonderful sounds and notes, where you let yourself be carried away by nostalgic songs like "Falling", you imagine an atmosphere of liberation with "Ligths Up", you travel to the future and radiate tranquility with "Canyon Moon", you have fun and imagine the summer with "Watermelon Sugar" and without a doubt the mostThis album is art in every sense of the word, it is an expression of wonderful sounds and notes, where you let yourself be carried away by nostalgic songs like "Falling", you imagine an atmosphere of liberation with "Ligths Up", you travel to the future and radiate tranquility with "Canyon Moon", you have fun and imagine the summer with "Watermelon Sugar" and without a doubt the most significant and favorite songs for me "Adore You", "Golden" and "Sunflower Vol. 6". Defining this album as the best work of Harry Styles is not enough. This masterpiece deserves appreciation and love for all the fans of this great lord and great singer. Expand

definitely the most amazing piece of work harry styles has ever put out. the songs are cohesive and the lyrics are powerful. falling and fine line are the most emotional songs on the album, and are the only times i’ve ever cried from just a songs lyrics. the album is truly beautiful, harry succeeds in making the audience feel his pain, freedom, and ending acceptance through his music.definitely the most amazing piece of work harry styles has ever put out. the songs are cohesive and the lyrics are powerful. falling and fine line are the most emotional songs on the album, and are the only times i’ve ever cried from just a songs lyrics. the album is truly beautiful, harry succeeds in making the audience feel his pain, freedom, and ending acceptance through his music. can’t wait to hear more from him and where he takes this album while performing and on tour. Free of the shackles that hobbled his debut, Styles manages to show more of his personality here, especially on the Vampire Weekend-style Sunflower, Vol. 6. It's just a shame he can't quite keep up with his ambition. [Feb 2020, p.110]

Fine Line is entirely inoffensive, but it’s also open-ended, and maybe those questions are the reward. Maybe Harry Styles just wants to keep us guessing.

Fine Line proves that the musician has absorbed the best lesson passed down by California’s great musicians: Don’t be afraid to take chances within a folk- or pop-rock framework, as that’s how you create iconoclastic music that endures.
