So far they make phrases rather than lyrics and sounds rather than songs, but they have a nice semi-chaotic way about them. [Sep 2008, p.108]
  2. Golden Animals do a remarkably impressive job of conjuring up just the kind of image they set out to do: floppy hatted, Afghan-coated drop outs singin' blue-eyed Blues as the acid gradually seeps out of their veins and into the foothills of the mesa.
  3. Eisner and Beecroft are both competent players and better-than average singers, but their songs just don’t stand out.
  4. The guitar-drums duo format makes for a sizable nod to the White Stripes too, and delicately crafted songs such as Follow Me Down are interspersed with chugging psychedelic blues and a infectious, mescalin-around-the-campfire feel.
  5. Uncut

Their ragged eclecticism is a winning one, taking detours into Ry Cooder slide-country, beat-up folk and starry desert ballads. [Sep 2008, p.98]
