Sounds like I’m listening to an hour long funk song. Here’s a quick run through. New money is underwhelming and doesn’t fit 21’s style at all. Potion is okay, but Young Thug ruins it for me. Woman Of The Year is good, and everyone pulled through. Obsessed is insanely overrated. New To You is alright, but a bit slow. Ready Or Not doesn’t fit well on the album. Stay With Me is great, but whySounds like I’m listening to an hour long funk song. Here’s a quick run through. New money is underwhelming and doesn’t fit 21’s style at all. Ready Or Not doesn’t fit well on the album. Stay With Me is great, but why did Calvin get Halsey on his song and she just talks? I don’t even remember Somebody Else or Nothing More To Say. Live My Best Life is the exact reason people should stop putting Snoop Dogg on songs. Lean On Me just drones on and on. Day One is a bad closer in general. The album is just kind of boring, and I wouldn’t really recommend it. Expand

Calvin Harris is good at singles and terrible with albums. FWB vol. 2 is better than vol. 1, but still without fireworks. More funky than first and has three really really really good good tracks - "Obsessed", "New To You" and "Somebody Else". Others are completely unremarkable. It's enough only for 6/10.

Calvin Harris has become absorbed by the success of his past work, and now has created a body of work that can be seen as a money-grab. not that bad, the production is great but some songs are not. I love the intro.

The album starts off rocky but picks itself up for Woman of the Year, Obsessed, and New to You, with Stay with Me being another highlight. The rest of the tracks just all feel the same. It's a calm album with some good songs, but so many of them fall flat because of similar sounds. I also think there's a bit too much rap for my taste, but that's more preference than criticism.

Nothing really to see here beyond a Dj's attempt to re-captivate an audience that's moved on with lifeless big hitter features. What made Vol.1 interesting and fun is that it felt diverse, inventive and precise: it knew what it wanted to do . Vol.2 feels like a bad spotify playlist. This is not interesting.

The record is funky, it might sound good near some waves (the title is also a play on the .wav format for digital music files, which Harris is constantly sending to studios across the world), and the beats generally bounce happily along. It does what it says on the tin.

Vol. 2 sounds like the album one might slap on after the Funk Wav Bounces, Vol. 1 party ends and everyone is ready to crash.

Detractors have long said that Harris’ music is tailor made for background summer playlists you can ignore – listening to this project, it’s hard to disagree.
