Dec 19, 2011A top album! Apollo Brown's beats are inspired. Journalist 103's rhymes are on form. One of the best albums of 2011. I hope people don't confuse it with old school hip hop because the way the samples and the drums compliment the verses are of too high a standard not to be of this age.

Jun 25, 2018It always surprises me how unknown this album is. I would go as far to say it was the most enjoyable album for me in 2011, it carefully ties together the hip hop styles of the past and present to create a powerful blend.

Mar 5, 2019One of the most amazing albums of the 2000's. Incredible production, top-notch lyricism, and for my taste, when Apollo Brown was at his most creative. All the beats feel rather unique. 100% Recommended. Flawless.

Mar 3, 2011An artistic statement and a brilliant debut, Gas Mask should be Motown's unofficial soundtrack, but its listenership should know no regional boundaries.

Mar 3, 2011There aren't any lackluster songs, and even though the lyrics and the rhymes are digestible on the first listen, they get better with more listens.

Mar 3, 2011If I were asked to document the unrest within Detroit, The Left's Gas Mask would be the backdrop. Journalist 103 and Apollo Brown have created a beautifully ugly masterpiece that seethes with urgency and raises the bar considerably for their peers at home and beyond.
